Which dot size would you recommend for a secondary sight on an AR-15? 3 moa or 6moa? It is going on my IPSC match rifle mounted on the forearm at 45 degrees, and will only be used at very close range because of lower height over bore and through tight/low openings.

6 moa dot sounds HUGE. I only use a 3moa on my pistol, ha.

In close though, it might not be a bad idea. One of the great things about the EOTech style reticle is getting on target fast at close range in the circle and then using the dot for farther out stuff where you take a moment to aim.

What is your main scope?

I used to do the 45° thing on my gun, but went to a 1-6 power variable optic and have not looked back since.

New to snipers hide, but a long time 3gunner... I'd definitely go 6 moa. it's a LOT faster on target transitions for guys who are fast... for old, slow farts like me, the 6 moa is a lot easier to acquire the next target.

Seems like the vast majority of guys are either running Cmore Railway or Cmore rts @ 6 or 8moa or Vortex Venom in 6 moa... you really can't go wrong with either.
