I don't believe all the hype behind the Remington scare stories but this happened to me.
While pig hunting this past week I had my 700 adl discarge while holding it by one hand on the forend. The mussle was in a safe dirrection, no tragic story. When I inspected the gun I noticed it was not on safe. I had placed the gun on safe before crawling through the manzanita and scrub brush. So it must have caught on something. There was nothing caught on the trigger when it went off.
I have since put the gun through multiple function tests, on safe, off safe, bumped and dropped, and still can't duplicate the malfunction. I know that replacing the trigger is the fix for this problem. I am looking for advise on fixes or possible explainations. It does have the old remington trigger in it.
I know there are a lot of you out there with far more knowlege than I and I would appreciate any imput. Thanks
