Rifle Scopes Rem 700 Sps 308 tac, rookie needs help

I have on layaway a remington 700 sps tactical 18" 308 and I need help on deciding what scope should I get on it. I don't want to brake the bank, my top is 500, but if somebody knows one for 300 that will be good for beginners I would appetite it.

I have given this advice before. Raise your limit to $800.00. Then buy either a Vortex, Weaver or Bushnell in that price range.

I bought a Millet for $300.00 to start. It was not long and I wished I had my money back to go on the Voxtex I bought.

Look at Vortex. You should be able to get one in the $500 range.

ETA: Also check out SWFA fixed scopes. I'm pretty sure you can get a 10x42 for $300'ish. Great glass for the money.

Take a look at the Weaver Tactical Grand Slam Midway Exclusive 3-10x40 mildot $299.99 right now online. I think you will find a lot of good review on it. Should work well for what you are looking for.
