Just finished my remage project i started for fun. I had a Remington 700 adl in 270 sitting around that i never shot so i wanted to convert it to a remage that i could practice with and also because i like to tinker. I came across an xcaliber select match 26” in 6mm creedmoor for a steal so i grabbed that. Got it installed on the action. Put a badger knob on. It sits in a Grayboe Renegade that i painted and has badger ordnance m24a2 bottom metal for short action mags. I also have a long action bottom metal in case i want to switch it up. Has a piercision muscle brake, seekins 20 moa base. Still shopping around for a trigger.

Looks awesome! How many Remage conversions have you done? How tough was it to do and did you run into any trouble?
This was my very first. I’m normally an ar guy. It was really really easy. The hardest part was getting the factory barrel off. I didn’t buy a barrel vise i was gonna make one in my shop but never did. Just used a vice. Other than that it was easy.
Looks great. I’ve got a rem700 308 with a lemon barrel (throat too small, needs reaming), but I’d rather have it 6.5CM. Considering remage as option.
The toughest part is getting the factory barrel off. The last one I did, I just ordered an action.
It works pretty good so far. I fast cycled 5 rounds out of the mag really quickly and no hiccups. More testing soon will tell but seems promising
I did my first 2 remages (308 and 223) in the last 3 months from scratch, no blueprinting or anything.. new barrels and new Rem 700 actions. Both are shooting sub .5 MOA using old reloads, the 308 shot .26" with 175gr FGMM. So pretty stoked. Hope to work up some loads for them soon, just haven't had time.
I know this post is a few months old, but I am interested to see what the inlet near the barrel nut looks like.
I've done 3 different Remage builds; 6.5 Creedmoor x2 and 284 Winchester x1. They all shoot sub .5" at 100y. It's nice to have a world class rifle at a much more modest price tag.
I have a rem 700 in a Renegade I’m thinking of doing this to, any issues with the barrel nut fitting? Doesn’t seem so.
I’m also curious, where did you get your remage barrel nut and did you use original recoil lug or get a new one of those as well?

I got a new recoil lug. Had to do a bit of Dremel work on the stock. Good luck.
