I wouldn't try that. Those cheap pry bars are very unsafe and tend to bend/break and cause injury. Best use of that rifle is a trot line weight.

Re: What is the difference of Remington .30-06 rifles

I don't see how they got rid of the 710 and came out with the 770. They went completely backwards when they did that. The 710 is not the greatest rifle in the world, but is much better IMO than any 770.

Not to turn this into a 770 bashing thread. I know a few guys that have them and love them. They only shoot them 5-10 times a year also.

I have a 710 chambered in 30-06. I do not recommend them to anyone. That said, I love the gun, it is a beater and has taken many deer. I don't care if it gets scratched and scraped. Fairly accurate for a hunting rifle, cheap, and light. I wouln't say it is very reliable, but it has never failed me in the field. I can see where it would though. The bolt cycles like 80 grit sand paper and is not very fast. It might hinder a follow up shot, but on a deer, you only get one shot around here.

I own two 700s also. A 30-06 and a 308.

Why are you looking into a 30-06? What are you using it for?

Re: Remington 700 .30-06 rifles

Congrats on the new stick. I have the 700 BDL in 30.06, my wife has a 700 ADL in 30.06. We love them, and I think you will be very happy with it.
