Remington 700 Bolt Field Strip Demonstration

A lot of guys don't know how to pull apart their bolt to check the firing pin and to clean and lube the assembly. The question came up on Mail Call Mondays, but I figured it would be handier to give it a separate video.

This is not something you need to do after every range trip. I do it when I clean my bore (about 500 rounds) or when the rifle gets soaking wet.

Btw, I love mail call Monday's. I've been away from any high speed Internet for a couple of weeks and haven't got to watch the most recent editions but cant wait to play catchup here in a bit.

A half an old credit card works instead of a dime for those who would care if the bolt shroud gets messed up.

I have never messed up a bolt shroud with the dime/penny. I guess it's possible, but unlikely.

I am considering doing a detail strip at some point in the future, where I take a complete rifle down to its individual components.
