I have a 5R and want to convert it to a magazine feed. Ive seen a couple conversion kits, one from Magpul for around $70 and one from Wyatts for around $250. Anyone have experience with these or other kits?

Just choose one with an M5 pattern DBM and send your stock off to be in-letted. The Magpul will need in-letting. The Wyatts is a drop in. Mine had a really slopp[y mag well. It fed but the side to side slop was annoying.

Or eBay the HS and order a stock with an M% in-let already. Or a mini chassis or chassis.

I have the magpul, in both long and short action. They both required a small amount of inletting, the s/a more than the l/a. Both installed in B&C stocks of different nature, and both feed and function flawlessly. without much to compare it to, I have no complaints.

Just gonna throw this out there.. You could buy an affordable chassis /stock , something like a KRG Bravo, new or used and it probably wouldn’t end up costing much more money than buying/ paying someone to in-let Wyatt’s DBM in your HS precision 5R stock when it’s all said and done..I did exactly what you suggested back in the day and shortly thereafter decided I wanted a Mcmillan stock for my new Badger DMB??‍♂️ Nothing wrong with the HS stock, just make sure you still wanna be shooting that stock for another 2 yrs- just trying to save you some $$$ Good luck

Great info from all, thanks. I think the above will be my course of action. Ive been wanting one of Frank's Ashbury stocks anyway.
