Howdy all. Does anyone have a Remington 700 PCR? What do you think of them? I searched the bolt action forum and did not get any results. I know they have only been out a few months and the few reviews I have seen were positive. I have found them for around $850 bucks and I am thinking about buying one.

If it shoots as good as the Remington 5R .308 rifles then it is as good as any factory rifle and shoots as well as many customs for a
fracttion of the cost. It is at least twice as good as any Savage. ?
You're going to force me to dig through old hard drives for my 1/4 moa Savage targets? That's just cruel. (Factory 112 22-250 barrel)

I have one. So, from a real world standpoint, there are things I didn't love about it, and things I love. Things I'm also still working out.
First off, the grip angle of the stock pistol grip is terrible for any position other than off hand shooting while standing. You have to full fledged chicken wing your arm to even feel remotely conformable while shooting.
(Here is where all the big green haters yell "Hah, see they can't even build a new gun right.") HOWEVER in a real failure on their advertising departments part, although it does not say in any information online, in the brochure I saw, etc, the chassis takes AR style grips and stocks, so the world is your oyster in picking the most comfortable grip for you. (For me the bcm gunfighter mod 0 was perfect)
I actually really like the chassis, and of course the new magpul adjustable stock is very nice, though the cheek riser and stock could extend a touch more for me at 6'3".
For me, it's as comfortable and smooth as my tikka in 300wm. Shoots better than my browning a bolt 25-06, and almost as nice as my christensen arms mesa. Is it as good as an AI build? Probably not, but I don't have one. Is it out of the cough so my wife doesn't hear number of guns I have rifle I take out to shoot the most? Yes. And I'm quite enjoying it as well.
I've tweaked a few things since, but here is the last picture showIng revised pistol grip.

I would buy it again. Only about 300 rounds down it so far, but very pleased still with it.

Ok, so I had a few questions about the bipod attachments and others about my "wierd light on a long gun" after my picture on here. I attempted to reply in conversations section, but it wouldn't let me paste my pictures there. So, Brandon, and Austen, here is the rundown.

the bipod is keymod and attaches direct to rail seperately. It also locks on a few different positions.

I have my "light" which is actually my silencerco radius rangefinder mounted beneath the front of the handguard below the barrell. Laser rangefinder activated by button near trigger. Yes, in grass it is tricky with it mounted beneath, but I can kneel, range, and go prone if I HAD to.
7093797
Just showing the bipod legs in the rear position rather than forward. They both miss the radius in full range of motion, though I unplug the connector seen below if going from rear lock to past connector. Similar to headphone jack.
7093798
Full out position and straight down. Need to scuff up new leg extentions as they were painted gloss black and reflect in light.
7093799
Business end full down, straight down.

Should've taken at least one with the radius on. Maybe next time. The front of the handguard is far enough forward, I get on target with reticle center, hit radius button, open left eye to see range, and dial as needed. Occasionally I have had to come off gun to see range, but that's more a statement of my eyesight than anything. It's not ideal for every situation, prs, etc, but it works for me.
Still refining a few items, but have enjoyed this gun more than most as of recent, and like the modular type abilities it affords.
Thanks for your interest and questions. For all others, carry on.

Nice setup GTO. I have an update. I bought the Remington 700 PCR in 6.5CM just before Father's Day. I told my wife I needed a scope for it and she bought me one for Father's day. It is a Vortex Diamondback 6x24. When I opened the scope box, there was a disassembled Glock 48 inside. I have an awesome wife and the family had a nice weekend shooting. My wife shot the attached target and it measured .38" for 5 shots at 100. I had a 3/4" 5 shot group earlier in the day but we got rained out before I could get a better group. I am shooting handloads with Hornady 140g SSTs and Hodgdon 100V.

The rifle shoots great but the trigger sucks. It is at 6 pounds with the screw backed all of the way out and mushy. I think I am going to put a triggertech trigger in it soon. I put the scope on with Leupold LRW mid rings and lapped them. I put a keymod to swivel adapter on it to mount the Harris bipod. I am all in at about 1300 bucks and am overall very happy with the PCR. I think it will be a awesome rifle with a better trigger.

Thanks for the advice in buying one.

Great shooting on your wife's part. I'll likely be pulling the trigger on a trigger tech as well, but would like to compare a few different trigger options first. Luckily, just that kind of event is next month for me, and I'm sure I'll leave with one in my bag, or with an idea which model I'm partial to.
Nice score on the Father's Day surprise as well! So far, minor things to sort, but still very pleased with my rifle, as it looks like you will be too.

Question: It is now 2020 and I bought a PCR (in 308 - already have 2 6.5 CMs) recently. For those of you who have the Square Drop hand guard design what attachment do you use? KeyMod or M-Lok? Looks like a bastardization of them both.

Replacing the trigger with a TT this coming weekend
