Re: Remington 700 Police 338 Lapua rifles

Well I had one of the first one and I can honestly say that it is the only gun I ever regret selling. For the price you couldnt beat it. Now that finances are going a little better I would love to pick up another one if anyone knows where we can get them?????

Re: Remington 700 Police 338 Lapua rifles

I have a line on two of them

Let you know if it comes thru or not !

Only need to keep one...

This method sucks! Any better ways to measure twist!? </div></div>

You could always just cross cut the barrel open and then measure!

UPS freaking delivered mine an hour too late... My dealer had to go outta town today and just missed the truck I guess, so the guy next door has it:(... Oh well. I will pick it up on Monday and take plenty of pics for you guys. ( I scored mine from SCPX as well)

Anymore info on these? Anyone get theirs yet? Are the specs from SnipercountryPX correct(X-Mark Pro Trigger, BO DBM, etc.)?

HS PSS style stock with palm swell
40X trigger (ext adj)
M16 style extractor
8-40 base screws
26" barrel including brake
BO(?) or HS bottom metal/det mag

Re: Remington 700 Police 338 Lapua rifles

Apache308- Are those rifles from SnipercountryPX?

Does the bottom metal use Accuracy International mags or HS precision mags? Anyone know how much the mags are running?

Re: Remington 700 Police 338 Lapua rifles

Here's another shot of the brake. I "think" I can see a faint line about 1/2" back from the first port....I hope it is visible in the pic. I tried to remove the brake with LIGHT to MODERATE pressure by hand with a tight fitting piece of drill rod and could not make anything happen. The barrel was gently but firmly held in a vise with Brownell's red soft jaws. Whether or not it comes off I cannot say without further info from the manufacturer or really getting on it. Like I said I am not sure if this one will stay or go so I treat her gently. SR

Re: Remington 700 Police 338 Lapua rifles

Thanks for the info Apache, I just scored on of these and am trying to get the details. Looks like a very slick setup, can't wait to get mine. Too bad they didn't go with a longer barrel.

I think I secured a decent shooting spot in Northeast KS but am still looking if anyone has some land. I'm going to purchase some metal targets and a laser rangefinder, it'll be a blast. The 300yd range at CCGC isn't gonna cut it for this beast.

Re: Remington 700 Police 338 Lapua rifles

From the looks of the pic it looks like it was threaded on. I swore I read a post somewhere where a guy took the break off of his. He said it was a real PITA to get off. I just spent 10mins looking for the damn thread but couldn't find it. I seriously doubt it's threaded to the tip of the break.

Re: Remington 700 Police 338 Lapua rifles

Ok, here are the results.
Chrome moly action/ bbl
BBL is 6 groove 1:10 twist, 24"/ 25.5 with brake (measured from flash hole)
Muzzle is .825 dia
M-16 Style extractor.
Weighs 9.0 pounds
Box mag max length is, 3.790"
Brake thread is 5/8 x 24.
Scope base holes are 8x40
40x trigger for sure.
The brake is freaking hard to get off (had to apply heat:( )

Will have to call Remington to find out where to source additional mags.

Tried to measure mine with a cleaning rod and came up with 1:11 both times. </div></div>
i hope you and remington are wrong. i truly hope it is a 1:10 twist. </div></div>

I have a TRG 42 that does not have a 1:10, you dont need it. You can shoot 250 gr pills just fine. I have had mine out past 1200 yards with the 250, and it shoot great (better then I can make it go). Good stick man Grats.

yes 30 MOA. the base got here yesterday, and the nightforce is mounted and boresighted. i honestly could have gone with the 45 MOA base but the 30 will still get to the transonic region. i ordered a roedale brake this morning through the group buy. should be pretty sweet.
