Junky ass bolt handle broke at solder joint. My Remington Dr. is in Afghanistan. Who welds these back on correctly with timing and all?

Nothing against the guy, but when I open a web page and it screams something about religion. I usually move on to someone who isn't so bent on doing business around their religion. It just screams look at me I am honest since I am a devout Christian.

I think exactly opposite...props to Nate at Straight Shot Gunsmithing for giving God the glory, not only in his business but in everything he does. I wish there were more like him.

I dont silver solder bolt handles. Thought about offering welding, but it's not my specialty.
You have to be a pretty good tig welder if thats the route you go.

just because you have found religion does not mean you have ethics and vice versa and while you are looking down on someone for not doing buisness with him because of having things of religious nature on his website ask yourself if you would do buisness with someone who is anti religion or maybe a different religion.

just because you have found religion does not mean you have ethics and vice versa and while you are looking down on someone for not doing buisness with him because of having things of religious nature on his website ask yourself if you would do buisness with someone who is anti religion or maybe a different religion.

I was trying to MAKE the point that because a person referred to such on his/her website was a poor excuse to NOT do business with that person/persons. I also have run across many "so called religious" people whom I would NEVER do business with. Not because of their beliefs but because of what type of a person they are!!!!!
I happen to know Nate Dagley personally and know what he stands for and what kind of business person he is and the quality of his work. Have never seen ANYWHERE on the net where he ever bashed another business or a person. Cannot say same for the other reference here who even bashed Nate for some reason known apparently only to that business person. Guess the best advertising is apparently to bash your competition????
My point again was the negative comment to a great guy with high regard for the work he does and how he treats other people whether close friends or absolute strangers. A person like that does not deserve negative, degradeing or insulting comments from anyone, especially if they have an axe to grind for no apparent reason.
Now I am done posting for another month or so.

Greg Tannel at Gre-Tan Rifles silver brazes Rem bolt handles, here's the price list . Can also add machine screws. Pricey but top flight work. Built a couple Rem700s per my specs, no connection otherwise.

although not the case here, my father did tell me when i was young not to trust any man that walks about spouting bible versus. Nate's a solid fella. He lets god do his thinking. Both are very proficient smiths goot with welding/timing bolts from what I understand. My personal thoughts on either's pesonal opinions would have no place here, but if I needed precision welding/timing of a bolt, either's reputation for quality work would be enough to qualify them in my mind.
Personally I'd contact both and see who has the shortest current backlog and go from there.

First of all I would like to clarify that when you are dealing with Nathan Dagley at Straight Shot Gunsmithing you are dealing with a sinner, prone to imperfections, prone to forgetfulness as well as many other faults.
On the bright side I am aware of this and my constant desire is to learn more and become better at what I do, without my customers this business would not be, therefore I feel it very important to give you all the best service I am capable of, again I am a one man shop with a family. There are many things in life that are out of my control, this can hinder the service I would like to give my customers as a constant.
As far as religion on my website, if someone is excited about something, you will hear about it. I have read several posts where someone's wife or relative or friend gave them a huge gift and they were very excited about it and posted it just to share their gratefulness and excitement about it.
I have been given a gift that I do not deserve, but given none the less. I am excited about it! therefore I will share it. I also believe this gift is for all who will receive it. I will not push it on anybody, in fact most of my friends after knowing me for awhile have to ask me if I'm a Christian, my desire is that the way I live my life will be a testimony, not necessarily the words that come out of my mouth. I do not like things being crammed down my throat or being pushed on me, therefor I try not to do the same. I do like to think for myself and hear about things other people are excited about, weather I embrace their belief or not.
If you go on my website or come in my house you may be offended by what you read there or by what I stand for, I will not try to change this as for me to please all of you, I would have to be two faced as there are many different views, beliefs and understandings. I do like to think for myself and hear about things other people are excited about, weather I embrace their belief or not.

I have used Nate and "other" for bolt handle installation. All I can say is that Nate is first class to deal with and his work is first class as well. He will get my business when a build needs bolt handle attention as I cannot do this in house. I have experienced less than satisfaction with "other". SR

This has little to do about Nate, please do not take this as anything but an observation of MINE. I remember watching Robbie Kneivel jump a bunch of buses on a silly Fox special. He lands it, drives up to the reporter, and says "I'd like to thank my Lord and personal savior Jesus Christ!" I just kept laughing to myself thinking that with all of the shit going on in the world, I doubt Jesus gives a shit about some hillbilly jumping a motorcycle over some busses at a county fair.

You might also try Carl Feldcamp a Kampfeld custom. He does the Tig welding. Last time I talked to him ( about 3 weeks ago ) his turnaround was 2 weeks.
I have used Dan on a couple of bolts and I have since moved to other vendors for my own reasons. If you do some looking around, you will find that he is pretty opinionated and has made some pretty shi**y remarks about the folks here on the hide. Last time I used him, his turnaround was about 10 days from mail box to ail box.
