Not for sniper work but for hunting- are the Remington model 7's accurate with those thin light barrels?

Also... The Remington model 7 KS(kevlar syn. Stock) from the custom shop

I can't find any info anywhere on these rifles... Anyone have info !?

Re: Remington model sevens

My 7-08 shoots MOA with factory ammo when I do my part. My biggest knock is how light they are. Lack of mass makes it hard to keep steady and makes the recoil pretty sharp. I use it when hiking since it's small, light, and weatherproof, but I'd be lying if I said it was a joy to shoot. Its a good but basic rifle. Be sure you're OK with the trigger as they vary greatly between rifles. Mine is heavy but breaks clean. I've shot others that were not so hot.

Re: Remington model sevens

A buddy has one of these with the wood stock in .223. It's an older one. He loves this thing, or at least that's what he says. He hasn't shot it in years. He is one of those guys that buys guns and likes hunting, but other than sighting them in once a year and shooting deer with them he really doesn't shoot much at all anymore, nor does he ever really clean or maintain them. Since you can't deer hunt with a .223 here, he never uses it.

So I've never seen it shoot, nor have I shot it, but he really likes it. Infact, he has been trying to buy another one in .243 recently as he said he really likes them.

That being said, while I've never shot it, I have fondled his and I absolutely love how it feels in my hands. It fits me perfectly and I think I'd really like it if it shot halfway decent. I'd buy it from him if he'd ever sell it to me, but I'm pretty sure that wont ever happen.

Re: Remington model sevens

I have 2 in 260 that are stainless. They both shoot excellent. takes a bit to shoot groups off the bags but they will shoot.
I carry the M7 the most during deer season.

Re: Remington model sevens

Wife came with one in 260 lol. Its a nice little rifle and is accurate for 2-3 shot strings. Not really my thing though. Like mentioned above its much harder to hold steady than heavier rifles.
