Good, now I’m gonna go sue Hyundai because that’s what the guy who rear ended me last month was driving....
Paying them off would set a dangerous precedent. Other gun manufacturers should start a fund to help them fight this in court. This may be the end of Remington. I don't know anyone who buys the junk they make now.
I would imagine that this is on the state level only. Also all complaints were thrown out except "wrongful advertising". They can continue with the law suit on that claim only.

What happened to Remington a few months back, I thought they already claimed bankruptcy? A company claiming bankruptcy isn’t going to have perfect quality control. Honestly what have there really brought to the gun world as of late that would change anything? 700 is old, 870 is old and there new rifles are pretty much just thrown together after someone else builds something and they just put there spin on it.

Stupid me I was cleaning mine, a Navy Arms or some such, in a tub of what I thought was just solvent but it ended up being death inducing solvent and it stripped and pitted my beautiful revolver......

Damn that sucks to hear. A lot of people do say the Colt's "point better" and feels more natural in the hand. And my Ruger Vaquero certainly lives up to that. I have not used any solvents to clean firearms in the past and most definitely will not be doing so in the future either. I prefer to follow the K.I.S.S. principle and if it is not something that I can readily procure and obtain on an extended hunting or trail excursion, or similar circumstances like that, then it is a good idea not to rely on it.
Your 1860 Army would most likely be an ASM (Armi San Marco. Brescia, Italy. Company now defunct) or an Uberti. Navy Arms is one of the first wholesale importers of reproduction Old West guns and these two companies are their sole contracts for many years.

Pouring individual charges was boring so a bought a brass powder magazine that Id put my index finger over the tip open the valve filling the entire spout and that was my charge. I have no idea how many grains I was loading but it all fit in the cylinder and left room for a ball so it had to be right.
God favors fools cause I shot that thing quite a bit and never blew myself up.

In the Remington case it is not about design, safety features, inherent dangerous situation that a reasonable person should have known about......its based on the court saying they marketed the rifle in a way that was reckless and enticed kids to misuse the product.

I was under the impression a federal statute specifically limits gun manufacturers from liability for actions of third parties...I would think this would be thrown out on appeal to federal court???
All of this ruling means very little other than "death by a thousand cuts". The only purpose is to have a firearms manufacturer spend money on legal defense. The only winners are the attorneys. There is always a chance for a payday if Remington (in this case) chooses to pay out rather than go to court. Either way, it costs Remington money.
