Re: remington plugjer problem

Its probally has some brass chips in it. Push the plunger in with a small punch and flush it out with some solvent and a rag. Keep doing it till it frees it up. Or remove the plunger by punching out the pin on the bolt and clean the whole hole. Watch the plunger if never taken it out before disassemble it in a large plastic bag so you don't lose parts. Good luck.

I dont know the size punch you will need (IIRC 1/16th), but cleaning this out is easy as pie. All you need is a roll pin punch, a brass hammer, armorers block, spray lube and a spent casing.

First off, prep the LZ by spraying some lube in the area of the ejector, hook the casing under the extractor and do your best to compress the spring and ejector, working the oil into the ejector hole

Then Drive out the roll pin holding the ejector in, But make sure you leave the punch in the bolt.

3d Turn the bolt upsidedown so the face of the bolt is against your workbench. Pull out the punch and the ejector should come out. If it does not, do not for any reason put the bolt up close to your eye, try some more lube, both on the face of the bolt, and in the ejector retaining pin hole.

Once the ejector is out, clean it and the spring very well with an oil soaked rag, clean in the ejector hole with a pipe cleaner

To reassemble, place the ejector spring in, then the ejector, ensure that you "Time" the ejector, so that when you compress, the retaining pin cut out gives you a clear line of sight thru the bolt.

Once you have both spring and ejector in place, use your dummy round/spent casing to compress the ejector and reinstall the retaining pin

Total time to complete this should not be longer than 5 mins

Re: remington plugjer problem

yeah punch out that roll pin and take it apart...very easy. Even I figured it out. Only way to be sure she's clean

Re: remington plugjer problem

When I stuck my ejector, I pushed out the roll pin, and the ejector didn't come out. I used a small scraper type hook, almost like a dental tool, and use it to push upward on the ejector through the roll pin hole. You won't get much travel this way, but it may help to loosen the ejector. If the brass is holding it nearly at the bottom of its travel, it is tough to wiggle it free.
