Hi all -
I'm having a difficult time making a decision here, so I thought I'd seek the advice of the experts.
I currently have a Bushnell Elite 6-24x56FFP mounted on my Savage 308. I'm a whore for great glass and had anticipated doing an upgrade to the glass at some point down the line. When the deal on the SuperSniper 5-20 came through, I was ready to jump on board, but now I'm questioning the wisdom of that move. I'm guessing that the SS 5-20 HD glass will be an improvement over the Bushnell Elite, but is it going to be that much of an improvement?
Buying the SS would require putting it on a CC that has a less than exceptional interest rate. My alternative is to wait awhile and buy a different scope through Bear Basin where I have a huge credit limit and can get 0% interest for a year. There are a couple of options at Bear Basin: an IOR 3.5-18x56 with a 35mm tube or a Schmidt & Bender PMIII. I have an IOR 2-12x32 on my AR that's setup similar to the 3.5-18 and I've been very impressed by the quality of their product. S&B, well...it's S&B!
Primary application will be target shooting out to 1000. I've become an addict for our regular long range tactical rifle matches.
...oh, and zombies
