Gentlemen - Thanks for the great forum. I've been lurking awhile and have learned a lot about what I don't know. Now to my question: I have a Remington 700 LTR in .308 with the factory DBM. The rifle shoots very well but, there's not much to love about the factory DBM. It's difficult to seat securely and quickly. I'm looking for a retrofit that would allow use of both 5 and 10 round magazines. Something that could be user installed would be a bonus. The search button didn't produce any relevant results. What do you recommend? With best regards from the Big Empty, ELN.

First, use this to search here: SH Search
I believe the only drop in DBM will be the HS Precision. I upgraded my LTR to the Badger Ordnance M5 DBM and had it installed by my gunsmith. There are a few members here that offer DBM and can install it at a very reasonable price.

I have 2 cents to spare today...
1st, If you want it to look good you will either have to fill and repaint the hs stock to cover the original remington dbm cut out.
2nd If you are serious into getting good dbm go with a solid maker that uses ai or equiv. mags as they are easy to find and cheaper. I say CDI, seekins, Hooper, badger
I would also suggest the wyatts as it is good at the price point and mags are easy tto obtain)(5 and 10rd available)

The wyatts is a very close drop in. I would( I own 4 of them) advise against the hs precsion kits as they are always out of stock, and the mags are a lot more when you can find them.
Other thoughts are sell the hs stock you have on ebay with the DBM and mags and get a bdl cutout style stock of your liking

Good luck
