you can go back and try to "better" your levels. I'm now down to 223 shots for the course. I think I could get it a little lower but I'd need way more freetime than I currently have.

I'm down to 198 for all levels. The key is methodical lowering of the scores by analyzing the angles you can expect and by that- possible number of shots. Then test them out. I've found a few levels where if you get everything right, you can hit multiple targets next to the explosive drums by figuring how to hit them in the head without blowing the drum so the arrow remains in play until it runs out of ricochets.
Another thing that helps is understanding key points to hit and then playing around with them slightly to get multiple hits. If you open tabs in the top of your browser and then make note of where your cursor is in relation to the titles of websites on the tab when you fire without moving the cursor. When you get your desired result- keep that point in mind and if you feel you need to reset that level- you won't have to guess. Some of the POA/POI have to be VERY precise to get maximum hits.

not sure, it's been a while since I played it. If you keep a record of your elevation/velocity for each target and get 1 round hits, you should make figure out the top score. As I recall, there are no "doubled up" explosions on there like the ricochet game.
