Rifles to avoid?

I've only bought one complete AR, a Rock River. I've also only put together 12 (yes I said put together, because I buy the barrel assembled, meaning extension on and headspaced, which I do check). I just like the fact that I can put whatever together any configuration I want without having to have left over unwanted parts, (because that usually leads to another build). I spend a little more, but like I said, I get what I want. I've only had one AR that had any problems, and that was from an out of spec lower. Every one of them shot moa or better and functioned great. Of course I don't really push to the edge of durability because I don't need to.

one more thought on the matter. you can throw as much money into an AR as you like. I am neither a genius, gunsmith.... nor a high speed operator. I look at AR15's like parts kits. Put your money into the barrel/upper, optic and trigger. Have the parts tuned by someone with skills and tools...and you will be miles ahead of buying 90% of off the shelf products.

After the last shock wave I sold a couple Colt Hbars at a huge profit. Old eyes cant see iron sights as well. Replacement #1 was a spikes lower, quality parts inside and a complete Colt 6920 upper with an Aimpoint Pro optic. Even though the lower does not match the upper from a label stand point, I have a great trigger pull, an optic that I can see well with and a rifle that shoots great with my reloads. My needs are much better served with the new set up.

Hope this helps

This, 110% is on the money.
