This is a tough question because both are good. The fact that you can order the barrel separate from the action in the RimX give you a lot of options on barrel profile, length, material which is nice. There are quite a few of them at the matches I shoot and once all the kinks are worked out they are great, but there have been kinks to work out with everyone of them. On the other hand, pretty much every Vudoo I have seen show up has come out of the box running great and extremely accurate. As said above, if there is an issue, they are super quick to help you out and make it right.
The best advice I can give you is if you want simple, pull it out of the box, drop it in a stock and go out and shoot, buy a Vudoo.
If you want it to be an all purpose rifle that can go from a heavy match gun to a light weight hunting rifle, get the RimX.

I would personally go with the Vudoo. I have a buddy that just went RimX with a proof barrel and he had to ship it to a gunsmith(recommended by Zermatt) by to have it put together. He is now having accuracy issue. Im thinking there might be two much bullet jump. Bullets barely touch the lands. I think its kinds of hit or miss. Are the RimX nice? Yes. Is Proof a great barrel? Hell yes. But still there are issues. Also I don't think Zermatt has helped with the issue.
I had mag feed issues with my Vudoo but was not the Vudoo that was the problem it was the chassis(KRG Bravo) I tried a few things but in the end I switched to a MPA BA Comp with the adjustable mag latch and am so much happier. Throughout all of that I had direct contact with Mike Bush and the Vudoo team. Great customer service.
So its up to you.
If it were me. Buy a complete Vudoo or a barreled action and drop in your preferred chassis then go out and shoot.
How was the issue with the KRG Bravo? Was the KRG Bravo out of spec? Was there something broken on the KRG Bravo, or otherwise defective?
Nothing wrong with it in terms of it being defective or anything. Probably could have fixed the mag issues with their extended mag catch but the KRG never really felt that good to me. So it all was an excuse to change. For another $300 I got a used MPA.
I think it just goes to show that there's a lot of nuances to rimfires. Unlike centerfires, you can't collect a bunch of components that are the same footprint and expect it to work more or less flawlessly.
You had issues with your Vudoo, your friend with a Rim-X. Not taking anything away from either brand, it just highlights how nuanced these systems are.
It would probably behoove anyone to have a really good gunsmith put your rimfire together, one who understands the nuances of rimfires. Whether it's a Rim-X or Vudoo. It does sound like Vudoo does a great job with their barreled actions, but I still wouldn't expect to slap one in a stock or chassis and expect it to work flawlessly.
I had feeding issues if I pushed a barricade into my mag and it could be fixed with a $20 mag catch. Also a known issue with the Bravo. His was put together by a gunsmith that was recommended by Zermatt and was shooting about 1 moa at 50 yards but almost 3” at 90 yards. Big difference in my opinion.
Should probably go to some matches where you'll see both brands, talk to the owners, they will probably let you fondle them to see which you prefer. Ask 'em what they like/dislike about their choice. Might cost a box of bullets or so, but no free lunch anymore.
This is also a great point. I have another buddy that just got a rimx. Forget which barrel. He likes it.
OP where are you located.
This is key, your building a complete custom rifle with the RimX. If "dudes really great barrel and the Moonshiners Special chassis" you screwed on your action doesn't work that ain't RimX's problem. It would probably behoove anyone to have a really good gunsmith put your rimfire together, one who understands the nuances of rimfires. Read and comprehend, Good Luck!
I went the RimX route and still have it and still shoot it in matches. I’ve had two different barrels by two different gunsmiths with two different reamers. Both Green Mountain barrels and both shoot incredible. I use mine for NRL22/PRS22 style matches and if I could do it all over again I’d go with a Vudoo.

Decided to skip a couple "upgrade" steps and go Vudoo in an MPA BA Comp chassis with an Athlon Cronus BTR Gen 2 4.5-29 on top. Scope is here, waiting on the Vudoo...15 more weeks.
If you like playing gunsmith, get a rim x. Not saying it’s a bad system. It just takes a lot of tinkering from what I’ve heard talking to folks that have them at the match I shot this past weekend. The vudoo is ready to go and the majority of the issues people have is feeding due to the fact r700 chassis’s are designed for centerfire, not rimfire. I thought about getting a rim x but was advised I’d be better off sticking with my vudoo.
When i decided to go with a vudoo,i didnt screw around with getting a stock or chassis,and fit it myself,i had them do it... Ive shot over 10,000 rnds and no joke not one ftf fte mag issues nothing nada zero issues. If i could afford it i would buy 30 more... Dint know what i would do with them but its that good,reliable,accurate,and consistant.

Vudoo was a good shooter just like my RimX but I did not like the bolt feeling and I had sporadic feeding issue on 3 mags ( once or twice every match)
I like the feeling of f my RimX a lot more and haven’t runned into any issues. Get a Benchmark prefit and you won’t have issues.

I felt that way about the bolt throw at first as well,then decided to run it faster and it takes whatever I throw at it. Fast , slow doesn't matter.
I run a RimX and I like it. When setup correctly they are extremely smooth feeding and cycling action.
My biggest concern/issue is if you run the bolt to slow you can/will have a misfeed. If you have a misfeed your done as the extractor cannot jump over the rim. Run the bolt quick your golden. I'm not saying slamming the bolt just quick.
If Vudoo could improve the mag I think from a feeding standpoint Vudoo would be king. I find the vudoo mags to be the weak link. If you load them correctly they work good.

I bought a Vudoo barreled action, a KRG Bravo, a TT Diamond trigger, a scope and rings and put it together. Most difficult part was tapping 2 pins into the trigger hanger. Not rocket science! It has worked flawlessly with all 4 magazines. If something didn't work out with the build I knew Vudoo customer service would take care of me one way or the other. One of the guys I shoot PRS with wins most of our 22 matches with a RimX, but he also wins most of our centerfire matches too. These are both the top of the food chain in rimfire repeaters
I couldn't decide, so I bought one of each and see which one works best for me. I'm still waiting on the Vudoo, but have the RimX and been shooting it. I went with a 20" Bartlein Heavy Palma, TriggerTech Special, and MPA Hybrid for now as I'm waiting on a Foundation stock. But so far the RimX and Bartlein has been amazing. Can't wait to get the Vudoo and do a head-to-head....
I purchased a vudoo and my shooting partner purchased a rimx. We are just sourcing a barrel. He has a few options. Ordered a Walther barrel but it apparently is on back order and we found a benchmark and a rock creek so might cancel and change on Monday. I’m excited to see them side by each as a comparison. Out of the gate the rimx feels a little smoother, and a bit of a nicer but I can’t imagine anything shooting better then my vudoo lol, Not saying it won’t happen but makes me that much more excited to see how this rimx preforms. It doesn’t matter what we put in it.
More testing needs to be done at 300 but so far it is just shooting lights out and at 200 and in it’s almost too easy. 300 was a bit of a challenge but shot a 10 shot 3.2” group.

Which barrel did you get on the Vudoo?
I have a 20” mtu ace
We were shooting at the range dead of winter and the roads/paths were closed due to snow amounts so we only wanted out once to set paper and the rest at 300 was just steel. So the only two groups fired on paper that day were 4” and the 3.25” group. On steel it was too hard to tell.
Now that weather is better we will be testing both my vudoo and his rimx from 25-300. Might take the occasional poke past that but 99% of our shooting is 300 and in. Once his barrel comes in we will shoot groups on paper once again now that paths/roads at range are back open
That is very good for a 22lr. I typical do 20 shot groups. I only have done 200 and 400 testing.

Thank you. Those particular groups were shot with tenex. Center x seemed to preform as well but going to test all of them in the coming weeks cause tenex is too expensive to shoot so hoping sk, Eley club, or Center x hold as well at 300. Have 3 shoots April may and June, and a team shoot July and a team shoot November. In that picture it’s a Nikon black. It was wearing an element nexus for the longest time but a friend wanted to try it so he’s had it for the past few weeks and don’t think I’ll see him for a couple months so threw the spare black on.
I’ve personally never stretch it to 400 on anything noticeable. I was shooting in a field and they just did there harvest so there was left over potatoes spread all over the field and was shooting at 400 on some potatoes, the splash’s were super easy to see on the dry dirt and connected more then expected but never actually shot legit at anything past the 350. How did you make out at 400. My scope maxed around the 370 ish and had to hold the rest.

I went with a RimX built by Sterling Precision . I transitioned from a realy good shooting but highly modded RPRimfire and tried the Bergara B14R BA for 2 weeks in a couple of chassis and it was a PITA. I could have gone with a MPA which appears to be the one most are successful with but just not fond of that one.
I debated between the Vudoo and RimX for several weeks reading and talking to many owners. I agree with most that accuracy is a wash depending on the barrel. To me smooth and reliable feeding is the most critical factor. I believe the RimX wins on that regard primarily because of the mags but even without one to me it's just smoother. I just shot side by side with two Vudoo owners at my club yesterday we shot each others rigs and even they agreed, both thier rigs were built by Vudoo in MPAs. One commented about how he felt the Vudoo was "clunky". The other main reason I went RimX is the ability to change barrels and calibers later down the line. I plan to get into some 22ELR with Cutting Edge projectiles and a 1:7/10 twist barrel at some point.
I went with the 18 inch Proof Competition Contour and put it in a KRG Gen4 Xray chassis and run a TriggerTech 2 stage standard 8oz/14oz. So far only 300 rounds through it 50 and 100, won't bother with group pics it shot for me as expected and equally well to the 2 Vudoos yesterday. I'll take it to further distances hopefully tomorrow.

Padom and Orkan shot some of the best groups on the 6 x 5 thread, with the RimX, but their skills may be better than the Vudoo shooters. They also have used many different barrels and ammo combinations to find what works best
Well for what it’s worth I’ll say that while a voodoo and Rimx are nice rifles having shot them both and owning a B14r I see no reason to switch. If nrl or prs is your game then feeding is most important followed by accuracy in my opinion. I am attaching my B14r groups of 5 shots at 50yds with Midas and Center x. The groups stay tight out to 300yds. I guess my opinion is if you got the money get the RimX or voodoo but, don’t expect to have some miraculous improvements.

No I only got to shoot all the ammo at 100-200 yards. In the coming weeks with the weather nicer I’ll be spending much more time at 300 yards for groups. Center x, sk pistol and tenex were the only grouped at 300. And sk pistol held in there at 200 but 300 opened a lot more then the other two
At long range the gun can only do so much. Its 90% ammo. Can the rifle make a difference? Yes a good barrel is less picky etc but all in all feeding, reliability, and rifle setup/ balance are the biggest factors.
I have seen them all fail. I have a vudoo and rimx. Had allot of feeding and ejection issues with the vudoo but your mileage may vary. The rimx had one failure to eject in the 1,500 or so rounds ran through it. This weekend I watched two vudoos go down not sure what the issue was. I think allot of the issues with vudoo is caused by setup. At the end of the day if you find a reliable 22 setup that shoots run it...
Compared side by side today with a RimX with a Proof prefit. Shot amazing 50yd groups with a lot of Center-X that had a SD of 5. The trigger lift was a little heavier than the Vudoo, maybe a trigger timing issue, but not bad. The bolt cycling was a lot smoother than my Vudoo. I changed the way I cycled my bolt so that I push straight back on my Vudoo, but when people cycle my Vudoo differently it binds a bit. The RimX was just silky smooth.
RimX magazines, and the way they're loaded is much better. Vudoo magazines if you're not careful loading them can be super finicky.
Proof prefit barrel isn't a super tight chamber, althought it shot great. Or maybe a combo of chamber + the way RimX does its headspacing but the velocity was lower? Same lot of ammo, out of my 18" Vudoo it's 1090, and out of the RimX Proof Comp Contour, it's 1055.
Vudoo's next design I hope will be super good, but I don't think they're going to change their mags (though they should) to make loading it just less error prone. Given the patent wars between Vudoo and RimX, I am guessing Vudoo is not going to want to copy RimX's magazine design.

I wonder if there were improvements to the bolt in the version 2.0 V22 ? Mine never binds. Maybe I just operate the bolt a bit different. Since I dropped mine in a Bravo I have yet to have one issue using Center X, Midas +, SK standard +, Rife Match, or RWS R50.
