Rimfire Coyotes

Though I have seen a few in pictures, that dog is far darker than any I've seen in the wild. And it looks huge. What is your set up?
Nice work man, that dog is dark!!! I think a lot of people underestimate the effectiveness of the .22! 10 cent killer....
We have had several black coyotes killed in my area over the years.
To answer the original question. I will shoot a coyote with whatever I have or can get my hands on when I see it.

I've shot one or two with a .22rf when that was what I had in my hands. Never had one shot with a 22 run off to die later either. Winchester DynaPoint ammo seems to be pretty lethal on 'em.
Another vote the photo looks more like a wolf than coyote.

I agree, the dark coat and large body both point to wolf or coy/wolf cross. Big dog.... Irish
Definitely a black color phased yote, very common in the southern US and found in the midwest in smaller numbers. My dad's killed a couple in Michigan on our farm the last few years(pics below). I live in the middle of wolf country and hunt and see them often. Watch the video, that is far from a wolf just good photography. Congrats on a great looking yote!
