Savage Anschutz Sporter 54. Made by Anschutz in Ulm, Germany, imported by Savage from about 1964 to 1981. The 54 action is revered. The single stage trigger is adjustable, and I've set it to 1.75 lbs. It's a repeater, and is missing only the hood on the front sight. (Lots of guys take these off because they think they'll see them in the scope. They're wrong, but oh well...) This one came with a USA-made vintage Weaver 4x, but that's not gonna cut it. The plan is to install a 3-12x42 Nikon Monarch, using a 25 MOA DIP rail and Burris Signature Zee rings. Should have about 1/8" clearance between objective bell and barrel, or a tiny bit more. Found the rifle on GunsAmerica (a couple of months ago) for $995 plus $30 shipping. The rifle is in superb, barely used condition. Score. Will it shoot with my Anschutz 54 in a 1411 (prone) stock with 5 ounce trigger (at present) and aperture sights? We'll see.

Not bedded. Everything else is stock. I did add some length of pull to the stock with a 1/2" piece of plywood.

20" Rock Creek barrel with Anschutz chamber. Fancy bolt handle, bottom metal and 20 MOA rail. 4.5-14 Mk4 mounted in Burris z-rings with 20 MOA inserts. Manners T4 stock with Eagle stock pack. USO level and SilencerCo Sparrow on the end.

CZ455. AAC Element 2. Barrel Threading and small size bolt knob by Hooper Ordnance. Bushnell 3-12H2DMR w/Leupold HD rings. Accurate Ordnance provided the Badger 20MOA rail, Badger EFR, Badger bipod rail (YHM adapter for harris bipod), Timney Trigger, DIP metal magwell, flush cups, and cerakote (Patriot Brown metal and scope, "shadow hunter" stock). Tab Elite sling from Rifles Only.

I bought this new 14 days ago.....









right now this is worse and cheaper than my AR's. and I'm going to paint it this weekend again. I have Gemtech, CCI, Federal, Aguila and Remington subsonic ammo from years ago, prolly 1,500rnds. I'm totally having a relapse from 2004 with rimfires and I love it!!!! :)

Picture of the PWS T3 summit with sparrow can and falcon 4-14x44 ffp scope. Thing is a real tack driver and should be fun out in the woods with the critters.

The other one is my FWB 300s air rifle.

A few years ago I felt a little funny about gussying up 22s (in the same way I snorted at tricked out Honda Civics that dared to even glance in the direction of my muscle car), but it started one day when, after taking a sizable pay cut, I watched an arc of brass flow out of my M16 and I did the math$ in my head real quick. I have since worked up 22 trainers for my 6.5CM, Uzi, and M16/AR15s. As the size/weight/manual of arms are the same it has greatly increased my training time without hitting my wallet. Unlike those with airsofts (I think) I have bagged a few yotes, innumerable squirrels... etc. If anyone is doing that with an airsoft I don't want to bear witness. Having said that, yeah... it's all a bit airsoft-ish. But that will in no way deter me from continuing down this road. This stuff is addictive partly because it's so inexpensive and partly because it's so easy. Maybe when the ammo/component market opens up I'll back off a bit but I think I'm hooked, even though my cash flow has recovered.

I think I may have shared a photo once before, but here is an updated one. Just finished the camo paint today. It came out better than I thought it would.

Savage MKII, DIP bottom metal, and trigger guard...the dark colot looks black in the photo but it is actually dark brown.

gotta say, cool guns everybody, but at the same time kinda disappointing... I guess I don't get the point of rimfire rifles. seems like a very expensive glorified pellet gun to me. Now that .22 ammo is nonexistant or ridiculously over prices I really don't see the point...

Well, maybe my Colt LE6920 is just a glorified version of my Gap10, and the Spikes 22LR AR is just pointless for training my 12 year old nephew and equally pointless for the rimfire only steel competitions, or the Accurate Ordnance 300WM (built for long range elk hunting) is a glorified version of my SAC built M700 308 shorty (built for close up whitetail or sub sonic coyote hunting). Or maybe, just maybe, my 22LRs are highly effective trainers/hunting rifles/fun guns that can be really quiet when shooting here in the burbs, and are rifles that stand completely on their own. And if you don't get the point of 22s, then what in the world are you using for squirrels, rabbit, other small game, for training kids how to shoot...? Seriously, that's not a rhetorical question.

And yes, cost does factor into it... just like shooting 308 cost less than 300WM, and 22LR costs less than 223, or 6.5CM and on and on. Those 3 bricks of Wolf you see in the picture below cost a little bit less than 1,500 hundred rounds of center fire, and 22 ammo is getting a little easier to find (just picked up 100 rounds of Remmy for 0.07/each from Cabela's this morning.

GSG-5 With upgrades Runs great and is fun never a failure for me.

Here's my freshly finished MKII FV-SR "airsoft abomination". Is it a high end target rifle? No, but for under $500 I think I got a nice beginners rifle pillar bedded into a solid aluminum framed stock with a shape that my bum wrist is much more comfortable aligning. Oh and this particular airsoft stock is a better fit to me than the TRR-SR my wife has and miles above the flimsy plastic thing savage shipped with it.

10/22 with 16" Feddersen barrel, Hogue nylon stock, EGW 20MOA base, SWFA SS 6x42 mil/mil scope, TPS low rings (would have got the super low, but I didn't know they made them when I placed my order at Midway!). Has a Volquartsen target hammer, which is a big improvement over the stock trigger, but not even in the same league as the Timney on my 700. I definitely need to get a cheek pad, lower rings, or both.

Just got the scope earlier this week, took it out yesterday for the first time and this is the best I could muster at 100 yards with Federal Lightning ammo. That and WWB value packs are all I have on hand. Once supply catches up, I'll try some different ammo and see if I can shrink these groups a little.

My intentions with the rifle are to be used at 100-300 yards as a trainer.
