They should be, with proper courtesy to the judge, hounding about those prosecutorial oversteps on their client's Constitutional rights and making that case for the mistrial with prejudice at every turn right now. They are not adhering to their duty to employ whatever legal means they have to keep their client's freedom, and they have plenty of ammo to do so right now.

Last night, a freelancer received a traffic citation. While the traffic violation took place near the jury van, the freelancer never contacted or intended to contact the jurors during deliberations, and never photographed or intended to photograph them. We regret the incident and will fully cooperate with the authorities on any investigation

I was on a federal jury a few years ago where it took me 2.5 days to convince the rest of those fools that the cops hadn't used excessive force while arresting a very drunk & uncooperative white trash woman... I wouldn't sweat the length of time just yet.
