For PRS we all run arca for a couple reasons. One is you can put your bipod anywhere along the rail you want, so you can get your bipod short enough to get 2 points of contact on a 55 gallon drum if necessary. Another one is because flat bottom forends are very desirable for putting the rifle on a bag. For general target and predator hunting applications, you probably don't need those things. You could likely get away with using a small pic rail section or harris type mount for the bipod, and a shorter arca section for tripod use.
