Went to NRA show and was disappointed to not see RRS there.

Lots of vendors had their rifles on RRs stuff though. Got to play with one, maybe the TA-3-LC?

Seems like everytime I went to tighten it the rifle would move. Perhaps it's just me and need more time behind it. It would be frustrating as heck for sure.

How full was the convention at Austin NRA? My employer was on Shot Show's vendor waiting list for a while and we pulled it when we stopped making police tactical vehicles 5 years ago. Maybe RRS couldn't get in?

It was Dallas and I bet they could make space since some people pulled out due to political reasons, Nikon as one example.

Sorry man, my wife and I just had our first baby on the 28th April. Wish we could have gone, but between that, moving the whole company and machines, still assembling all our new products in preparation to ship this week and next week we just couldn't make it. If you guys didn't know I am the only person that works for RRS on the rifle side of the business.

Havne't had very many people say they had issues with this. Except some people were at the show and said a lot of other companies who make tripods that "Look" similar to ours, were putting our leveling bases on their tripods. So that could have been the reason, their bowl bases are different because we have a patent on how ours goes into it. Maybe that could explain it.

Probably just need some practice with one. I don't consider myself that good of shot but 6 and 8" plates at 600 yards aren't too bad to hit off of a RRS tripod setup and a leveling base. I bought it just to practice something other than prone and to hunt with it some.

I have both types and they are very solid. The universal type does require a little more torque to get it solid. The TA-3 you need to crank pretty good also. I have made shots at 1200 with it so it should work for most things.
