RRS R-Lock?

12" is the sweet spot for about a third of my rifles. Works well on several Manners stocks that have a shorter fore ends or long actions. 12" also works well on AR platforms with 12.5" - 15" hand-guards. You lose about 2-1/4" -2-1/2" of hand-guard for the barrel nut section.

As for weight kits.....I'd be tickled if you just offered the same rails in an all steel nitrited version. KRG does this for their chassis, but there not universal. Most people I've talked to at matches with the 419 weight tuning rails, have all the weights installed. myself included.

Actually it looks like you've already done exactly what I was hoping for. I just wouldn't have picked up on it from the pictures on the web sight.

Maybe I'm a little slow, but the first time I looked at the USR rails I thought the Key-mod/M-locks options just applied to the attachment fateners. Having lugs that engage is a really attractive feature that deserves to be highlighted a little better on the web-sight.

I thought the drop in adapters where flat on top. I was wanting lugs that engage either M-Lock or Key-mod & that's exactly what you did I think?

Here are a couple of pictures of the USR's with their respective hardware options. We are currently working on updating the website based off your suggestion. So, thank you.

In the first image from left to right the hardware options are M-Lok, Keyslot, Stock, and Chassis. You're correct that the M-Lok eyelets have an extra lip that helps them positively engage with the M-lok slots. The rest of the eyelets are the same without that. In the second picture, you have from top to bottom M-lok, Keyslot, Stock, and Chassis hardware options.

I hope this helps give a better look and more detail into the USRs and their hardware options. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Ill reach out and ask Foundation the length of the Forend on a Genesis 2, but if yo uare buying a new one, I am betting its coming with a rail that already has R-Lock on it.

On the Genesis 2, from front of recoil lug forward is 11.125” to tip. Id say 11" is mountable surface where a rail would be

Is it possible to get the dimensions of the holes to get milled into a chassis with bilt in arca. I currently use ingenuity gunworks instead of arca but I'm thinking I'll change to r-lock if I can get it milled into a chassis

We will be shipping some Anvil-30 ARC in January yes. Current new orders are looking like March. Hopefully we will rein that in a little bit with scheduling and supplies available. Biggest hurdle is getting through all the Gen 1's first.

I wonder if the clamp would work with the arc Xylo chassis. The pics above shows the lock pattern that is similar to the xylo. The holes in the xylo are for the weights so it wouldn’t work I guess if one had weights installed.

Not at the moment. Maybe this year. There are some hurdles involve and some decisions.

Yeah we have been shipping some for the past week and a half.

The following is a mouthful:

The Anvil-30 ARC item is shared across 12 shippable sku. 5 stand alone options, then built into the 7 tfct tripod options. The pre-orders opened in August so we are working on months 8-11 right now, broken up across all the ordered options. We are trying to fulfill all orders in a first in first out order, but we also have to consider what other components are available at the time. Yes it has a slightly different form and design. It also increased the lockup with less force and gives alittle more articulation.

As I prepare to try to compete in NRL Hunter with a 12lb rifle, movement of the dovetail in a standard SC-LR seems more pronounced with a higher recoil and lighter rifle. I haven't been able to convert my Anvil-30 over to an ARC solution, but looking forward to when I can so my rifle will stop moving in the clamp...

That's what I was excited about switching for, and it's nice. I don't mind the paddle to disengage the r-lock pin, but wish there was a way for it to work with the lever flipped so locked is pointing towards me. Right now with it flipped around, I can't get the lever lock to work.

Any info on ETA? And will one be able to mount a SC-ARC / SC-LR upon a non-RRS ballhead (like an Arca B-1 / Z1+?

We can now offer the SC-ARC mounted to one of our Ball Heads now. The components are finished and in assembly. Until the website is finished up I would have to do a custom order for you over the phone. Here in a week or so they will be up on the site. Hopefully you guys have noticed we have a new site, trying to make it a little more friendly for navigation.

As far as fitting other companies Ballheads I am not sure. If the company you are using makes a ARMS-17s adapter then yes it'll work.

I’m just talking about an ARMS-17s to 3/8” stud adapter.

The ballhead has no rosette thingy like some RRS ballheads have. The stem of the head just has a 90° flat surface with a 3/8” stud coming out of it.

(Edit: I actually don’t know the exact thread on the B1, but you get the idea)

No we have nothing for that, just the Arms-17s with the rosette on the bottom. Worst case, you could grind the teeth off to make it flat. But no we don't make anything Arms-17s for other companies ballheads.

Is there an adapter that goes from ARMS-17s to an Arca dovetail? That way I could stack a SC-ARC, ARMS 17s to Arca dovetail plate, then my Arca B1 ballhead stock knob clamp.

It wouldn’t be pretty, but it would work.

Alternatively I guess I could go whole hog and have someone make an ARMS 17s plate that I could screw directly on the stem of my B1 (after removing the stock clamp). Then the SC-ARC would screw on that, right?

(Edit: found this plate from Atlas. I suppose I could have someone enlarge that 1/4-20 hole to whatever my B1 ballhead’s stem is threaded to)

Sorry for digging up old thread. Will the clamp work if you leave out the stud and the locking lever switch?

I.E. can it be converted into the previous iteration of anvil 30 that just relied on friction? One tripod I have is mainly used to spotting and ranging. So fairly often I'm swapping between SLC, Vector 21, or Minox spotter. I don't require the R-Lock and especially don't need the unlock switch. Would prefer just the older clamp.

Splitting hairs here. But I keep forgetting I need to press the unlock when trying to switch devices.

Not sure on all of it but the butterfly switch can be disassembled and flipped so it doesn't lock anymore. Know this from talking to the people in the showroom. BTW the butterfly lock is fun as heck to play with.

I still have my old clamp that required the spacer to work with the atlas cal and have considered upgrading to something with the butterfly.

Yes you can remove the butterfly switch and the RRS-Lock pin. It'll work exactly like the previous version, except with the addition of the adjustable tension feature.
