Hi guys,
I've got an old paddle board Ruger M77 Markii in 30-06 and would like to modernise the chassis.
Just after any ideas from those who have done it or are in the know?
I've looked at Boyds, H&S precision and Bell amd Carlson. Does anybody have any experience with these stocks or any pictures to help envision what the finally product may look like?
Any assistance, ideas, recommendations are appreciated.

MKII’s are nice rifles for what they are, controlled round feed hunting rifles. I own one, restocked it with a Hogue stock, had Shaw but a heavy barrel on it in .35 Whelen, had a trigger job done by Clarks Custom Guns and put a nice Leupold scope on it. The rifle is a tack driver, especially considering the heavy round it is chambered in.

All that said, rather than try to make the MKII a Precsion rifle, upgrading it and all, a better plan is to leave it as it is, and if money is an issue, get one of the barreled actions by Howa from Brownell’s, and one of the chassis built for that action…..or even better one of the less expensive Remington 700 compatible custom actions, a prefit barrel, Trigger Tech, Timney or Bix n Andy trigger and your choice of the many chassis available for Remington 700 footprint.
