Hello. New to the sight and this may not be where I need to post so please direct me if needed. I have a RPR 6mm Creedmoor. Vortex Viper PST 5-25×50 FFP Illuminated reticle in MOA. I'm seeking load info if anyone has any. I have several powders I intend on trying such as IMR 4831, IMR 4350, VARGET, IMR 3031, and a few other. Will be trying Hornady ELD X 108gr and the Nosler CC 107gr bullets to start. Not asking for anyone's hard earned secrets, just if anyone had any friendly advice. Thanks.

I have two very accurate loads (1/2 moa). One for short range and light breeze mid range, and one if it’s a little more windy mid range that I also use for 1000. This is with the factory barrel.

Question: Does everyone "season" their barrels? I have read that Ruger doesn't recommend it. If you do, what is your process? If not, please explain why.
Same I just did a first initial cleaning but I do that with all my guns, a little over 200 rds in and no issues
Nope. I’ll clean when my groups open up.
This was after a 30rd slow fire string. Gusty winds and not taking my time.

I'd be interested in this as well. I heard that Paul Reid has won a club match with one, but I don't hear of anybody winning national level matches with them. I assume that's mostly due to the big shooters having an action sponsor and building their rifles off of that action.
Maybe it's time for Ruger to get in the game and sponsor a few top level club shooters.
I believe they have sponsored a shooting team as of this year...It's not a precision rifle team of shooters, but I think they'll eventually get there.
I've won a few club matches with mine with a bunch of 2nd and 3rds. The rifle is very capable and performs as well as any. We shoot with a bunch of regional competitors and I've never felt out gunned.

Mine is now between 15 1/2 and 16 lbs.. Have way over $3,000.00 invested in rifle , scope and accessories. What class/division does that put me in ?

I would bet that the average match rifle is in the 15-16lb range. My RPR is probably a tad lighter than my last custom build and that was a 24" barrel in an XLR chassis. I tried out a Proof CF barrel for a few months that dropped near 2lbs off of the rifle and I didn't like the extra hop and recoil from the loss of weight. I changed up for a Bartlein actually looking forward to the extra weight again.

I've been thinking about picking up a 2nd RPR, this one in 6mm CM. Can someone tell me how many screws the forearm in a 2nd Gen is attached with?
I know about the change from KeyMod to M-Lok, that isn't any big deal to me.

I just checked my 6mm CM Gen2 take off it has 6 screws, replaced mine with the Seekins SP3R.
I’m guessing yes, and this may have been asked already, but can you use the same .308 and 6.5mm CM bolt face with the 6mm CM?
Gen 2 rails have 6 screws. And they are still KeyMod rails, not M-Lok. I wish they were M-Lok. It would make finding stuff a lot easier.
Well I’ll be. They’ve switched to M-Lok now. I bought my Gen 2 a little over a year ago and it came with KeyMod.
The bolts have all been gritty and prone to corrosion if you are in the elements. The Nitride should help out with that. On the advice of the almighty inter webs I polished my bolt with some Flitz on a rag or q-tip. Nice and smooth now and no signs of corrosion, even after being caught in a total gully-washer at a match.
On a side note, I looked at a Ruger Presision Rimfire today. Cool little rifles but of the bolts were extremely sticky on the two I handled. I don’t know if anyone has gotten one and could tell me if they smooth out after a while or if I could give it a bit of the Flitz treatment. I’m torn between the RPRimfire, the CZ 455, and the Ruger 10/22 Target Rifle.

When I got my Ruger Precision RF the bolt wasn't smooth and "sticky" as you say. I had removed the bolt and was cleaning everything to try an smooth it out as as I handled the bolt the two edges on the long groove cut me pretty good. Those edges were razor sharp so I wasn't going to leave it that way and risk more cuts down the road. I took my jeweler's file to those two edges and dulled them nicely. Now they can't cut anyone and also as a result the stickiness of the bolt disappeared. My bolt now runs smoothly . . . but not butter smooth. Maybe a little Flitz treatment might get it there???

My AI and Accurate Mags are a little worse for the wear and not functioning 100% anymore. I've heard good things about the Ruger AI-Style mags. I'm looking for match quality mags which mean that they need to function smoothly and properly 100% of the time. What is the word out there about these mags?
I hated the Magpul mags that shipped with my rifle. It seemed like the angle they presented the round to the feed ramp was wrong. I started using the Magpul AICS pattern mags and the feeding issues went away. But I was limited to 10 rounds. A friend let me borrow a Knight’s Armament 20 round SR-25 magazine at a match. I bought 2 of them a week later and haven’t looked back. They’ve been great.
Did not know that the SR-25 fit the ruger precision rifle, is this a 6.5 or 308 you are using it on.
I have the Magpul PMAG5 7.62 AC [5rds.] mag that will allow longer cartridges than the ten rd. factory and allows sngle loading of even longer rounds.
The factory supplied mags from Ruger are SR-25 pattern p mags. Any SR25 pattern mag should work in th RPR
I am using it for 6.5 Creedmoor. The person I borrowed the original from was using it in a .308 gas gun.
Initially they will lock the bolt back like the Magpul mags that come with the rifle. The Magpul AICS pattern will not lock back the bolt. If you put a mag in that locks the bolt back, and slam the bolt forward a few time (I know, cringe) they will no longer keep the bolt back. While that is great on a gas gun with a boltbrelease, it has no place on a bolt gun. My KAC mags no longer hold the bolt back, allowing a single round to be dropped in through the ejection port and loaded.
Anybody here tried a White Oak Armament RPR barrel. From what I read WOA uses Wilson blanks. For the price these look like great options.
I’ve looked at those as well. I couldn’t find one on an RPR, but some other searches show they do very well on the AR15
I put one on last winter in 6.5CM, and have been happy with it...I usually get 1/2 to 3/4 MOA out of it with some better, some worse using 140/147 ELD-M and 143 ELD-X. Someone who knows what they are doing can probably get even better results...
So I pulled the bolt on my RPR tonight and noticed A LOT of play in the bolt shroud that never used to be there. I pulled it off and looked at it and I’m thinking it is broken...can somebody pull their bolt shroud and tell me or show a picture of how it looks compared to mine?
