Gunsmithing Ruger Replacement Barrel?

Re: Ruger Replacement Barrel?

I disagree. No problem with the Shaw. Ship them your barreled action and $300 later, you're done. I have a Ruger there getting a 220 swift barrel spun on. I also know someone with a Shaw 7mm mag barrel that shoots great. They sell a BUNCH of barrels.

Give them a call. Great bunch of guys over there in Bridgeville PA.

Yup, they are the next best second rate product out there.

Re: Ruger Replacement Barrel?

Specifically, what was your personal problem with them. Did it not shoot in the 1's for ya or have you just heard that they're no good?

Let me know while I still have time to cancel my work order...............

Re: Ruger Replacement Barrel?

I'll second the E.R. Shaw. McGowen advertises that they re-barrel Rugers as well. As long as you go with a known name you'll likely be fine.

Re: Ruger Replacement Barrel?

I had a friend put on a Braughten barrel in a heavy varmit contour chambered in 30-06. The action was laid in a HS precision stock and it is a great shooter. It was night and day difference....original ruger condition is uncomparable. I wouldn't know how barughten compares to other manufacturers but I would buy another.
