While you asked for <span style="font-style: italic">opinions from owners</span> and I don't own any MTC-equipped PMIIs', I have played with MTC-equipped PMII 5-25Xs' enough to offer pretty good insight from the standpoint of a shooter who owns and uses two PMII 5-25Xs' with the standard DT 0.1 MIL turrets. Something else to keep in mind is that the "standard" (non-MTC) "window" DT Turrets and the (windowless) MTC Turrets each have their own characteristics which individual shooters may like or dislike. Therefore, even the opinions of <span style="font-style: italic">owners</span> is subjective due to individual preference(s).
Also, <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">regardless of who the manufacturer is, scopes usually exhibit some variation between them. This is true even when comparing two identically-configured scopes of the same model within the same manufacturer.</span></span> That said:
(a) I like the my standard DT turrets a lot - the large, color-coded numbers are easy-to-read in low light even with my 47 year-old eyes. I can see my Elevation setting while on the rifle. The clicks are extremely sharp and definite without the slightest hint of "mush" and the adjustments repeat without fail. However, the standard DT Turrets require you to either look at the dial every time you make an adjustment over a MIL, or slowly turn the Elevation Turret, counting each click. The latter is slow going, so sometimes I wish that I had MTC Turrets so I could quickly crank the Elevation turret to the major MIL setting, then dial the tenths (1/10ths') in slowly. Thats' what I did when I had a Premier (Heritage) 5-25X MTC DT 0.1 MIL scope, or do when using an MTC scope equipped rifle.
If I'd thought about it I may have opted for CCW MTC turrets when I sent my first PMII 5-25X CW scope to S & B for CCW turret conversion, but I didn't. And since I wanted to keep my turrets the same on my two PMII 5-25Xs', when I had my second PMII 5-25X CW scope converted to CCW I went with standard DT turrets again. Now that I've had two PMII 5-25X 0.1 MIL CW Gen 2 XRs' converted to CCW and have a ton of money in them I'm not going to send them back again (risking loss/theft and investing another $1,000.00+) to have them both converted to MTC Turrets for "no look" convenience. Not for a "one-way range" gun.
(b) The MTC Turrets really aren't bigger than the standard DT turrets - the MTC Elevation turret appears a bit taller because it is smaller in diameter than the standard DT Elevation turret. However, the numbers are a lot smaller than the numbers on the standard DT Elevation turret. Compared to the (larger) numbers on the standard DT turret, the (smaller) numbers on the MTC turret are harder to read quickly and accurately in low light.
(c) The MTC turrets that I've had the pleasure of playing with seem a bit tight when new <span style="font-style: italic">(isn't everything)?</span> This was also my experience with the MTC-equipped PMIIs' at SHOT 2011. This, coupled with shooters who typically aren't used to using MTC turrets is - IMHO - one of the reasons some people complain about spinning past their intended adjustment by a click or two. I have a friend who has a PMII 5-25X MTC and used to spin past the first tenth every time but once he got used to the MTC he stopped "over-dialing" his adjustments. I believe that as the scope is "broken-in" and/or as the shooter becomes accustomed to the MTC turrets the "over-dial problem" should go away. That is <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">Jeeprider</span></span>'s experience as he posted in this thread.
