These scopes, 5-25/56 PMii, depending on the model are selling for $2800 brand new on sports optics. What's with the huge price drop. Is Schmidt finally now realizing they are loosing market share? Makes me curious is their ultra short line and 3-20 will have the same fate. Hmmmmm...

There's information....on the Scout Hide, I believe....that said S&B was trimming down the many options they offer in their scope lines. Evidently they must have noticed a market share drop and / or consumer complaints about their prices. In any event......I think this is a strong move for S&B....and it can only help consumers get into a top tier scope. I think it's great!!

Big Changes at S&B.

Including lowering the price across the board by an average of $500

We have some relevant messages for that we need the consumers to realize:

1) USA Warranty revised to 20 Year Limited Warranty - Transferable

2) PM II retail pricing was lowered 14-19% - depending upon model

3) 5-25x56 PM II are in stock at many dealers, and available for immediate shipments

4) P4F-MOA first focal plane reticles readily available in the 5-25x56 PM II models

4) New P4FL2-MOA second focal plane reticle offered in 5-25x56 PM II models

5) New LRR-MIL first focal plane reticle, offered in 5-25x56 PM II models initially. Delivery mid-April/early-May 2017.

6) Greatly improved product availability and delivery times for PM II models

7) Now shipping several 5-45x56 PM II configurations

8) New 2017 USA Product Catalog

This is fantastic info Frank, especially #5 as that reticle has me really interested in seeing it in use, hopefully the reticle will follow in the 3-20 soon thereafter. Good stuff Schmidt & Bender!

Frank this is a long stretch, but; is there anyone you could ask about the Australian market? I have noticed the 5-25 get a bit closer to $3,500 AUD, but couldn't be sure if that was short term.

Now if only Vortex would follow suite I might be able to afford a high end scope lol

Great news for the S&B fans.

I don't think you'll find Vortex dropping prices. In fact, I think they've actually set the mark for higher end scope pricing. Vortex was probably a big factor for S&B lowering prices since the Razor Gen 2 is a huge seller.

I agree that Vortex set the mark for high end scope pricing. I also think Athlon might have had something to do with the price drop as well though.

S&B has always been considered the better scope. But it has always been so much more than the Vortex that there were a considerable number of people not willing to pay the price difference for the performance difference. But now that the PMIIs are going to be in the range of what you can get a Razor for those people that were buying the Razor because of the price difference might give S&B a serious look again and go with that over the Vortex.

Yeah, I agree with that 100%. I'm one of those people who bought a razor because a scope over $3k was not in the realm of possibility for me. I've never had the chance to look through a S&B scope but I'd like to at some point and the price drop will make them more attractive.
