Nice combo Ladd. I would suggest prior to range you check eye relief prone and off bench, check reticle for plumb. I never could figure out how you could mount a scope for someone without that someone behind the gun.

i have 108g,123g,139g lapua scenars 142mk and 140g noslers loaded in lapua and rem brass ready to go.

something i have loaded should work.
i will be able to shoot out to 600yd.

Broke in the 260 TRG today. Got it on paper and shot a couple groups at 101 yards. Then shot steel at 550 and 960 yards. 550 was easy despite shifting winds, including first cold bore shot at that range. Ended up just going for head shots to make it challenging.

960 yards was considerably more difficult with the shifting wind. I had no spotter and was shooting at a 15x25 inch IPSC plate. After a few misses, got the wind figured out and hit the next three in a row, until the wind changed direction again!

I am really impressed with the rifle. It exudes quality. I love the short, slick bolt throw. I also see what all the fuss is about with the trigger. The magazines are really solid and the bipod is very stable. A very well executed system and a heck of a lot of fun to shoot! The Hensoldt is the icing on the cake. I guess the best testament is that I hardly noticed the scope all day. It just disappears and is very easy to maintain a great image, even at 16 power.

I took a few pics and video. I'll try and get it posted tomorrow.

I shot Southwest Ammo's 139gr Scenar. Took 8 rounds to get on paper and get scope zeroed. First 5 shot group (shots 9-13) was easily covered with a quarter. The cold bore was slightly to the right of the remaining 4 shots that were all touching and easily covered with a dime. At that point, I quit shooting groups on paper and hit my first cold bore shot dead center chest at 550 yard 15x25 inch IPSC target. Just something very satisfying about the "ring" of hitting steel that no group on paper can replicate. I do like to shoot groups, however, headshot groups!

Barrel prep before shooting - one oiled patch, one clean patch, and then a bore snake down the tube. Break-in procedure: shot 60 rounds of ammo, no cleaning/scrubbing. Cleanup: boresnake and one oiled patch.

I assume the TRG barrels come from the factory hand lapped?

Well, she arrived today; number 104 of 200 dressed in a woodland camo stock and she is beautiful! Now I see what all the fuss is about. What a well thought out and executed rifle. I have heard a lot about how nice the triggers are, but you have to actually handle one to fully appreciate it. Brilliant design!

I had Euro Optics mount a a NF 8x32x56 target scope with a mil dot reticle and they did a great job. The only thing I can complain about is that I will need a cheek piece spacer to get a good cheek weld. I'll be ordering that tonight.

Hopefully, if the weather and my work schedule co-operate, I will get out to shoot it within the next couple of days.

Personally, I can't say since I have never handled any of the AIs. However, if you do a search you will find a few threads where comparisons were discussed. Both AI and Sako have devoted followers, but a common theme seemed to that the Sako was considered the easier rifle to shoot and probably a bit more accurate. However, the AI was thought to be the more combat worthy and robust of the two.

I've got both and the AI feels clunky compared to the TRG line. As far as combat worthy, the Sako chassis is pretty dam stout. The AI just has more of it. The TRG is in fact a military rifle. To me, the TRG just feels more "right". And, the trigger is incredible. I've got three in different calibers and I'm selling everything else. The .338LM is my fav.

Check to see if they have any woodland camo stocks ready to go. Not really much difference between them. I have the woodland camo and it looks great.

I'm in the desert here LW and with no rain since January nothing woodland

. Running on principle now so will hang until I get what I paid for. The way it's playing out I may be pushing daisies but my son will enjoy.

Yeah it's a little harder I guess for the woodland camo to work in desert terrain. I don't live in a desert environment but the desert camo on the TRG actually works well in a more woodland one as well, enough green and black that it doesn't really stick out.

By the way, you will almost certainly need comb spacers. I had to raise mine 16mm using 1.125 ring height with a 56mm objective scope. With the camo stock, get your spacers in black. I tried green and it's a much different shade then the green used in the stock. Didn't look good at all, so I switched to black which looks fine.

If anyone needs a 10mm spacer in green, shoot me an PM.

LW I have to run 10mm spacer on my 22 and 42 with low Badgers and 5-25x56 PMll's. I was aware no camo so ordered black same time as the 260 I can doctor it up with a rattle can. Got an e-mail from EO a few weeks ago spacer was in

Congrats! It's a beauty. Looks exactly like mine. Shoots like mine too.

I was wondering how the Corbon factory loads would do in our rifles. Good to know we have a solid factory ammo option if we need one, even if it is awefully expensive.

Look in the reloading section for the TRG in .260 thread. Some good info there.

Awesome rifle. You will love it. It's all the good stuff you have always heard about in a TRG-22 except it's a .260 instead of a .308, which to me is a big plus.

Plenty of good loads sorted out for this rifle now, too. So, your load development should be a breeze.

What's the deal with the .260 over the .308, I understand the .260 has a little flatter trajectory and has a little softer kick to it, but let's not forget that not everybody reloads. I don't anymore because I just don't have the time, and the .308 has several good match factory rounds for us non-reloaders on the market.

There isn't much more to the "deal" than what you have said. "a little flatter trajectory" is subjective. For me it is about 2 mils (25% less than the 308) at 850 yards. I've been told, by people who know, that the 260 is the single most common caliber at tactical sniper comps. Apparently its worth the effort for them.

"Flatter" is nice and all, but the big deal is reduced wind deflection. If you run in a squad in a tactical match all day with a .308 and see what guys running .260's are holding for wind, "the deal" becomes quite apparent.

In my experience "little softer kick" is a bit of an understatement too. Shooting my buddy's braked .260 compared to my braked .308 seemed like shooting rimfire (very loud rimfire.. but still).

I say 'seemed' because as of tomorrow I'm part of "club suppressed .260" --- and am not going to miss .308 one bit.

Also, keep in mind that what folks who don't reload think about a particular caliber isn't horribly relevant to those who do

I asked my guy at Eurooptic's about a 260 this morning but none are available right now, maybe soon, so instead I jumped on the last 308 in stock and had it overnighted to me for delivery to my local FFL by 11am tomorrow morning!

I have a TRG22 in 308, a full custom built 260 on a Defiance Machine action with Obermeyer barrel and a McMillan M40 in 300 win mag. But I am really Jonesing for another TRG22 only in 260 Remington. Maybe I'll have to sell a couple of other toys to end up with another Sako.
