Sako TRG22

Re: Sako TRG22

is changing the barrels on a trg as easy as having the barrel vise, barrel clamp, and action wrench?
also, are the barrels like an AI where you can just make a call to GAP and have them mail you a barrel...or do they need to be "fitted" like on a remington?

im assuming the bolts are interchangeable from trg to trg of the same caliber also?

thanks

Re: Sako TRG22

Thank you for all your input. I ordered a TRG Bipod from TJs for $425 and a Sako three ring mount for the scope.

Will be signing up for a precision rifle course at Sig Academy.

Re: Sako TRG22

I remember George of GAP mentioning that he'd want to verify headspace on the TRG so it's not as simple as a barrel order. You'd need to send in your rifle.

Not really a huge deal. I just got my .260 Blank in and my TRG22 will be a switch barrel .308/.260 soon. My TRG 42 will stay as is.

Love my TRG22 and TRG42 in .338LM. The 4th "short range" load I was working up for the .338 with 250 Scenars I put 5 into .182" at 100 yds after sighting in my scope - bipod and rear bag prone. I'll need to test that load out further, and see if I can stay as consistent as the TRG's are capable of.
