SAPI plates without kevlar backing??

So I am wondering how a SAPI plate would perform if worn in a plate carrier WITHOUT IIIA kevlar behind it. Would it still stop .223 and .308?

Some plate carriers, like the Blackhawk low vis, don't have enough room in the pouch for soft armor behind the plate.

It totally depends on the plate type. The manufacturer will specify whether the plate is standalone or not.

Unless you are on a budget that plate carrier is not as nice as the one diamondback makes. At least in my opinion and I have worn both daily.

If you plan on using that carrier, I would suggest going with level IV standalone plate since their is no room for soft armor. I would also suggest picking a better quality pc like eagle, paraclete or diamond back. Youll save $ in the long run.
