So you're going to two uppers? Or just one Creedmore upper?
What are you going to use it for? What is "longer distance" to you?

If I had to do it over again I'd get one of the lighter profile 18.5" barrels like fulton armory uses.

essentially 16-18'', 1-10 twist
the only downside (imho) to the fulton armory barrels is they are rifle length gas 16 and 18''. They say they will work though, and I haven't heard of them not working. It is just something that has prompted interesting comments from other barrel makers.
If you go the fulton armory way, that krieger criterion barrel looks like it would be a wicked shooter for a good price.

JSE lists 18" SASS barrels from DPMS at $180, but there seems to be the need of the DPMS gas block for $95. im leaning towards a kreiger from fulton too

I have one on my SASS. You can't go wrong with a Bartlein barrel. I still think most of the custom barrel makers make more then adequate barrels and the average person will not be able to tell the difference.
