I just bought a Savage .308 5R 20 FCP and want to get a flash hider for it but all I keep finding are muzzle breaks. Should I go ahead with a muzzle break or will that increase to sound to much.

Not sure I would put a flash hider on a rifle such as yours. Also muzzle brakes do not increase sound, they simply redirect the gasses to the side or rearward. This makes the shooters perception of noise and concussion seem louder.
My advice would be to skip both and purchase a sound suppressor.
Thanks for the info. The temptation to do crazy stuff is always there when they give you the option. LOL Since it is threaded I feel compelled to put something on it.
I recently installed a Surefire muzzle break on my 10 FCP. Noise increase is noticeable. I shoot mostly at outdoor ranges, so it hasn't been a problem. You might get complaints if you shoot indoors.
The AAC Black Out Three Fork flash hider works great for my Remington Mil Spec 5R. I got some A2 style Factory Birdcage hiders that I can just send you one if you just want to have something on it other than a thread protector. It looks pretty good actually to me anyways. Lol
Thanks HOGTOOTH5R but I went ahead and ordered a midline brake. If it works well I will order something better in the long run. Any thoughts on a great all around brake?
