Gunsmithing savage bolt heads and dimple in bolt

I have an older savage that has the dimple in the bolt and the bolt head has a milled out spot where it slide into the dimple. Savage dosent put the dimples in the bolts anymore, instead of milling the bolt head I was going to remove the dimple in the bolt. Anyone else run into this?
