I have seen the YouTube propaganda and I am hoping that I can get some honest opinions from people who have used these suppressors. So, those of you who have used these what do you think of them?

A coworker of mine has one of the first or second gen of these. He bought it because it was super cheap.
Not sure which gen they are on now or how they differ from current production, but I was not impressed with it at all.
I recall that the hype about these was mostly about low back pressure.
The sound and gas blowback were subjectively no better than my SureFire RC and the way the can mounts is ridiculous.
The cans were mounted on 2 nearly identical SBR AR’s.
The ones now have a quick connect brake. I know from videos that the older OSS mount was a direct thread on and you had to be careful taking it off or everything would fall out of it. That was a bad design in my opinion. All the hype on the newer design and the fact they got a government contract with H&K has me looking at them for my 10.5 and 11.5 SBRs.
I saw a video were they compared the sound at the muzzle and at the ear using a meter. The OSS was a couple decibels higher at the muzzle and it was more than a couple of decibels lower at the ear, they didn’t mention the competition by name. It wasn’t a SureFire, I know that.
Just bought 4 of them. Reviews from others on silencershop just for perspective

To be fair, I wouldn't shoot any can all day without ear pro. I did that years ago and my ears started stinging on the car ride home.Shot my friends 10.5 LWRC with a 7.62 OSS at the range Friday. It’s really pretty effective but it’s definitely closer to 140db. Not bad for a few shots but wouldn’t shoot all day without ear pro.
Sooo, pew science on the mk18, cgs Helios qd scores a 27.1...oss 556 scores a 31...was this metered properly? The videos they put out are with a meter that can't even measure gunshots accurately. Now that I think about it I can't think of a single video on YouTube of an OSS silencer being metered properly.
Buy a CGS Helios QD, especially for a 5.56 SBR. It'll do all the stuff an OSS silencer will do and more and it'll do it better.
