Rifle Scopes Scope Mounting 03-A3

I am helping a frend who has a Remington 03 - A3 it has been professionally sporterized. It has a sloped mount with a dovetail V notch rear sight. He is elderly and will probally never use it, but, his daughter gave him a scope for christmas and he wants it put on the rifle without altering Any sugestions on a mount.

Is the receiver stock? If so B Square makes a no drill/tap mount that will fit a 03-A3 nicely w/ no alterations. It has a ring that goes around the barrel and the rear replaces the rear sight using the dove tail.

Thank you for the information, I am all but certian it is stock, I look on the B-Square web sight as well as Midway USA and Brownells, I saw mounts for Remington 700 But, nothing that looked what you discribe. Can you shead any more light? I did leave messages at Brownells and midway.

B-Square and S&K both make no-drill/tap scope mounts for the 1903 and 1903A3 receivers. See here:

I have only seen the B-Square and it is likely adequate for the purpose intended in this situation, but I wouldn't trust my life to one. They just aren't as solid as mounts that would require drilling/tapping of the receiver.
