Brother....at this point it seems like it has to be one or the other. Either the tube is too small (but, I'm sure you looked up tube size and yes, its 34 mm) or the mount is miss marked and the wrong size (more likely, IMO).

And....just my uninformed opinion but...messing with it more ain't going to fix that.

Get with Tyler (that's who you bought the mount from...right?) and I'm sure he can help you.

do you have another set of 34mm rings? Or another 34mm scope to try in those rings. Either way I'd just return that mount or rings or whatever and get a replacement.

Do you have a caliper? Just measure to find out which one is off. Clearly one of them is.

What does your scope tube measure vs the rings torqued down?

I stopped messing with it after retorquing them and took everything off. I did extensive research in what size mount rings I needed. I think the mount is just defective. I can measure with calipers though but I would hope SB has better QC and wouldn’t let a scope leave with incorrect tube diameters.

Measured rings and scope. Rings look to me a little bit bigger than 34mm. He’s to see but there is a small gap on the right side of the calipers.

Assemble the rings without the scope and use the other side of your calipers (the id side).

Definitely a 35-36mm ring that got mis-marked.

Hope this is better. Tried getting horizontal and vertical. I feel like the 35 reading is off because it was sort of in the grooves but idk. Hard to get a good measurement on a circular thing with flat faced tool.

Looks like 35mm rings, send back for replacement.

OK, now I’m confused.

Mr Spuhr clearly has much more knowledge and time invested in the subject, but the only time I’ve ever had a scope slip is when I didn’t clean the oil off of the screws (not with a Sphur). They backed off within a couple uses of the rifle. I thought the scope was jacked because it couldn’t hold a zero. Some of the screws had zero torque on them when I realized it. Every screw was torqued properly with a Borka tool.

I have Spuhr mounts and I’ve read the directions about the wax they put on the screws, so I understand that and do not remove the wax from new screws, but I would have a hard time adding oil to them.

The best advice I could give is to spot mark the screws with nail polish. Then you’ll know if they’ve moved.

You can have it both ways. Clean the screws and apply blue loctite. I would add let is set for a day before shooting and double check the torque after your first range trip.

Fixed. No rotating issue now. The audere was a nice mount too. I hope the one coming with my zeiss lrp works out.

Not sure. Sent it back to MK, we'll see what they say. Might have just been a bad one that slipped through.
