Hey guys. As always I value your input. I am putting together my ideal brush gun. It is a Remmy 700, 308Win, 16 in barrel and will live in a MDT LSS chassis. It will be for hog and deer down here in south Texas. Most of my shots hunting will be 100 yards and under but could be say 2 to 300 on occasion. I will also use this rig for paper punching accurately out to 300yd also. The purpose of this rig is "compact" so I was wanting to keep the scope that way also. My eyes are not what they used to be, yeah I'm an old guy, and sometimes very low light shooting conditions will be the norm. I have a Leupold- VXR 1x4 on one of my guns which is great under 100 but not enough out at 300. Love that lighted dot!I also have a Zeiss 3x15 Conquest HD on my bench gun that I really like but is a big scope with a little more power than I think I need. I have a budget of $900.00. So many scopes out there that would be good but how can I choose one???? Need help please!

I think a Leupy VX6 1-6x24 Firedot would make a great brush gun optic.
A Hide vendor might be able to squeeze one under budget.

For a more traditional setup, the Swarovski Z3 3-9x36 is brilliant and very light weight.

I am a huge fan of Trijicon, the 1-4x and the 3-9x with amber triangle is my favorite config. Very fast on target with both eyes open.
