I am going down the runout rabbit hole. I've got a redding mic seating die and a RCBS match seater on the way. I am trying to seat 230 A-Tips in a 300 PRC and have gotten so-so runout with them so far, 2-5thou on average but for 70 cents a round I want damn near zero. I am about to start bedding my own stems with JB weld but before I do that I am curious if anyone else has tried swapping seating stems from one manufacturer into bodies from another? Ideally I could buy the hornady stem specifically for my projectiles, plug it in to a RCBS or Redding die and be done with it. Anyone tried?
