Anyone ever dealt with this company? Last month I sent in an order form for 2 bolt part kits, my credit card was charged on May 30, 2017, and was told two weeks ago today that they would be in the mail. Now here I am with no parts. I tried calling them, no answer, they don't answer phone calls anymore, and email response is slow at best.

I just fired off another email today asking when I should expect an email with a tracking number for my parts.

Should I just call my credit card company and get the charge reversed? Anyone dealt with this company? I see they have an F rating according to the BBB.

It's just ridiculous in this day and age that a company won't answer the phone, only takes orders through snail mail, and don't fulfill orders when promised.

It has been a couple of years since I got anything from them. I didn't have any issues and they do(or at least did) make good shit. I didn't look at the BBB but what are most of the complaints about? If people are complaining of time and communication issues like yourself but no real complaints about the products then I would stay the course. If the complaints are about the product and the problem of getting replacement or refund then I would bail.

Your not even a month in, if you were doing anything NFA or custom you wouldn't even be 10% done. I am pretty sure he is a pretty small operation. Quality is the utmost important to me, normally everything else comes 2nd.

    From the BBB website:
[h=4]REASON FOR RATING[/h] This company has a pattern of unanswered and serious complaints concerning problems with the products or services as well as delivery issues. Specifically, consumers allege the company does not ship the merchandise which has been ordered and paid for. Consumers also report difficulty reaching the company, as they fail to return phone calls and/or emails.

Additionally, the company has failed to respond to BBB attempts to help resolve the matters.

I didn't order anything custom, I ordered two bolt parts upgrade kits. And I ordered two because of the hassle of ordering from them. It's been more than one month, May 30th is when they charged my card.

I don't care how large or small a company is, promises should be kept, and orders should be fulfilled. Especially when a past email response indicated that the parts were in stock, and would be shipped on the 12th of June. It's bad business to string a customer along. Put the small parts in a padded envelope, and drop them in the mail, it isn't rocket science.

I am not arguing with you. You have valid reasons to bail. I gave my thoughts and reasoning behind why I would and have stayed the course in similar cases. I am currently waiting for an order to be completed that I made about 5 days before Christmas. Different company but the situation in incredibly similar. So far I have received 2 of 3 items with the 3rd promised in a couple weeks, but we will see promises have been broken a couple times so far.

Sharp Shooter, JEC Customs, Lucas, Scott Parker, PTG...the list is long. I just do not get the business model of not communicating with your customers.

Interesting. It appears things have not changed in 15 years (last time I dealt with them). Ordered two chambered Savage barrels (17 Mach IV and .20 Tactical). The Mach IV barrel showed up as a tight necked chamber (which was not requested), and the .20 Tac barrel languish for two more months. I won't get into details, but I finally got the second barrel, and since then have steered clear.

Sorry to hear the OP is having a problem...

They have sucked since the day they opened, but for awhile they were the only place to go if you wanted custom Savage parts. In the future, call Kevin Rayhill at Stockade before you subject yourself to SSSnake Fred. Rayhill actually responds to his customers, is an honest and pleasant Man, and a hell of a Savage smith if you find yourself needing a plumber.

If you have Facebook, you should post your complaint on their Facebook page. A lot of times companies respond to negative Facebook posts quicker than anything. They don't want negative comments posted for everybody to see. I've done it before with other companies and received almost immediate results.

    Different company. Different people.

I haven't heard that name in a while. I bought a Fred Sled from them once and got a call a few weeks later from them asking how it fits into the stock. I was happy to provide the customer support so that some other guy could figure out which way to goes in. lol. Still use that sled on my Savage 12. It has been through a couple of barrels but I didn't get them from SSS. I don't know, but there used to be no SSS bashing allowed at The Barrel Nut forums. Basically, it is a mom and pop operation and people need to realize that going in.

Those of you that said SSS had good parts, I shot my rifle today with the "upgraded" extractor and ejector kit, and had more malfunctions ejecting than I ever did with the original parts. 2 out of 10 shells would lay on top of the mag when trying to eject them. And it looks like their "upgraded" extractor is just a modified factory part. Maybe other stuff from them is good, but don't waste your time or money on the bolt parts kit from them.
