Anyone else that lives in a state being taken over by refugees of shittier states notice how bad the drivers are?

You try to merge with multiple car lengths buffer, they floor it and try to cut you off. Drive 20 under 70 or 20 over 35, just general shit driving.

I've also noticed that more often than not when I see someone pulled over they are being arrested and the cars getting towed.

I've seen some out of state plates driving terrible, almost always New York. But I would say in general it seems like people have gotten angrier the past few years while driving regardless of origin.

There is a stoplight a mile down the road from my area that starts a lot of petty merging fights. Two lanes that immediately merge into one after the intersection. People will drag race each other on green, pretty much playing chicken until the ending lane has to slow down or get run off the road.

Watched one pickup driver start to merge into the ending lane on a car, forcing them into the grass. Saw another start tapping the bumper of the guy who merged in front of him. The receiving driver pulled over thinking there was a legit car "accident", truck driver flipped the bird and sped off at 80mph.

its not my responsibility if i am cruising down the highway to change speeds and allow you in from an on ramp, its your job to match speed and make a seemless entry onto the highway.


BUT I will say what has helped me is this adaptive cruise control that holds a set distance on the car in front... now I dont have to pay attention if I come up on a slower car LOL...

I try to help, and cooperate, as much as I can while I’m driving, however, if I see some dickweed going around and passing up 16 cars to try to squeeze, or force himself, into a tiny hole just before the interstate on-ramp, then, I’m the asshole, and do everything I can to keep him from merging. I’m really fed up with the “I’m the only person on the road that matters” attitude that drivers have these days.

There's a 4 lane road with a turn lane all the way done the center for various driveways. In evening traffic it slows down a lot but isn't terrible, these assholes will drive down the turn lane or the shoulder for multiple MILES to turn at the intersection. You see multiple near miss head on collisions with vehicles trying to enter the roadway from the driveways.

Drivers ed teaches you to match the speed of the traffic you're merging into. Merging at 35 into a 65 is asinine.

My merging issue is I'm going the speed limit or higher and your 4-5 car lengths behind me going 60 in a 65. I start to get over and you floor it to try and cut me off when I'm already a third or half way into the lane.

They run onto the shoulder behind you and floor it up next to you. They do something stupid to feel/try to look like they are a victim.

We have feeder roads for slow traffic but they do 70 there, and 55 on the highway.

Sounds like you got some Socal drivers moving into your area. What you described is their classic modus operandi. That and flying up the lane exiting so they can cut you off ar the last second and merge in to get 5 cars ahead in bumper to bumper traffic.

I live in Louisiana and we have the worst drivers in the country. I've traveled all over the USA and Europe. Louisiana drivers are the worst and we have sky high auto insurance premiums to prove it. Drive has become MUCH worse with the invention of the smart phone.

I think it's the new normal. We live in a small town a it's getting crazy here. They think if they can pull out ahead of you, you're the one who is supposed to yield. I'm not sure if it's the lack of training due to parents not taking the time to drive with them and teach them the correct way. I think anymore the kids turn 16 and the parents fill out the certification form without them having the required driving time and training.

I live 180 miles from Dallas. My 19 year old daughter wanted to drive her and a couple friends to Dallas for some kind of concert. I told her HELL no you’re not going to Dallas, not as long as I’m paying the note and insurance. I explained why, that she needed way more driving experience before driving in Dallas, and she was fine with it. My daughter has a very rare trait these days for someone her age. She has very good common sense and has a good ability to reason.

And yes, I avoid Dallas like the plague.

Meh, I live in Dallas... There are some pretty bad drivers, but FAR FROM the worst...or maybe I am just used to the shit show... My wife and I play the "guess the race/gender of the shitty driver game"... "white" and/or "male" are very seldom the answer...

Just remember to drive AT LEAST 10 over the posted limit and you will be fine.

There are bad drivers everywhere. I've noticed most the ones around OKC have one of two identifying features on their cars. Either tribal plates or OU paraphernalia somewhere. They each have their own identifying traits as well. Tribal plates tend to stick to the left lane and run about 20 over. The OU people drive like they're on a mission and then suddenly have no idea where they are. They'll fly by you to cut you off and jam on the brakes, only to repeat it at the next exit. Every state I've ever been in has a truck driver going 65 and another trying to pass him at 65.4 on an uphill. Generally, Arkansas and Tennessee are the worst, but it hasn't been too bad with everything shut down.

Oh and every time I travel in another state I run across someone in the left lane holding up traffic. I always say "please don't be from Oklahoma" and 8 times out of 10, they are.

I have a Prius, which has all of 124hp and I think 100ft. lbs of torque that has zero issue hitting 60-65-70mph on any on-ramp that I have had it on and merging with the speed of traffic...

Im talking about people who get on the highway doing fucking 40mph and think people doing 70 should get out of the way... fuck that... thats dangerous.

If somebody at least is TRYING I will gladly move out of their way if its a timing issue, but if you are doing 40mph and want me to get out of the way, fuck off...

Oh commifornia drivers are terrible. Half don’t know what the accelerator is, and half don’t know how to let off the accelerator. Half don’t use a signal and almost hit you, the others think the signal is their right to just cut over in front of you, nearly hitting you and hitting their brakes. They’re coming to your state.
