If ever there was a time when we needed a real Batman, now would be it. It occured to me the tragic irony in the situation: poeple gunned down in an act of random terror while viewing a movie about a man standing up to terrorists.

first thing i thought about when i read the headline i was like ohh here we go..ban guns!!

but in reality more trained lawful carrying people in that theatre would have saved lives..

I just had to check out the Brady center website, just to satisfy a curiosity, and yes, they are already trying to capitalize on this. Who is worse, the killer, or the person using the killing to further their own ends?

he had ballistic gear on and an ar

I think he would have focused all his att. to his new threat and dealt with it easily

well at least an attempt is better than rolling over and dying..lot of people talk the talk
but when that time comes only a few have the courage to nut up.
but being a soldier I understand sacrafice for others.
if I go out it will be in a pile of brass..

ps gas masks are not balistic lol.

Republican or democrat or whatever: NO ONE ever waits for THIS to happen.

For those that CC in business that say NO CCW, bravo for you. These are the establishments that are easily targeted for these kind of tragedies. You may one day have to use your sidearm in defense of yourself, family, or some stranger.

I think the shame falls on the brady campaign to use this as fuel for their fire. Shame on them.

To anyone that lost friends or family, you have my deepest condolences.

Everyone else: TRAIN. Train like your life depends on it. Dont just target shoot, but train in as stressful of an environment as you can. Compete, push yourself to and past your limits. Get out of your comfort zone. Bad guys dont just show up and a convenient 5 yards with no protection. Practice shooting for "head shots" (if they are called what they really are), practice "failure drills" which used to be called Mozambique drills, 2 body, 1 head...

Let us learn from these situations and make ourselves better prepared.

Oh, yeah, gas masks are defeated by bullets!

Pumbaa's interpretation.

Although people seem to say that the liberals crave for these things to happen so they can enact more laws, he is saying that really that is not true. Does not matter if you are R or D, you don't want these things to happen.

Next line... I think basically what he is saying is to ignore the no concealed carry in this place sign and carry anyway. These places are magnets to those who will do harm. In other words the no carry sign is really a ROB or KILL here sign. You need to protect yourself when you go in.

The anti-gun crew Brady Inc. is really to blame since many of the laws they push have disarmed the law abiding citizen whereas the criminal does not obey the laws and signs.

Finally, he says don't just shoot paper targets, or plink. Make sure that when you practice shooting you add stresses and scenarios that will help you in case you find yourself in a real life or death situation. In other words train as you would fight, so you fight as you have trained.

miss it yeah prob, I felt the same after my other deployment. but thats the great thing about the army they keep letting me travel to new places..(well 1 now they shut the other place down) every other year or so!

Two things. Worth thinking about. I've never been the "conspiracy" type. When "progressives" (calling themselves Fabian Socialists) said they were going to take over the world back in 1884, we should have listened to them. It's how they go about doing it that I find interesting as hell. Assassinations, funding of wars and political campaigns, terrorist attacks, misdirection, fascinating.
