Is this legal? Does the property belong to individuals or to the state? They seem like they would make nice little ranges.

Property of the power companies, no doubt. They have easements. I'm thinking it's not a good idea to shoot there.

Easement or right-of-way, not exclusive ownership. By definition, in order to have an easement or right-of-way, somebody else has to actually own the property.
ALOT of shooting occurs on powerlines.

Unless it's public land, you still need permission of whoever actually owns the land.

I'll ask around then. A relative of mine owns quite a bit of land with a few lines running through it. Maybe they'll let me shoot on them.

In Tennessee the "right of ways" are property of TVA and they DO prosecute to the fullest. Don't ask me how I know. Don't hunt on CSX track berms either.
