I've seen such a dizzying array of announcements, I can't even begin to list what particularly I'd want to see- that's why I'm trusting 'hiders - you knowwwwww what I want

Oh, now that you mention it though, I did want to see what Remington has in store for tactical shotguns- so if you can photograph that, it'd be huge!

I'm particularily excited to see what kinda new shotguns are coming this year; I'm hoping there's something new from FN on that front (I really like their SLPs)

Auto rangefinding scope is cool (kind of a no brainer for the future anyway). If only one of the better mfrs made one (besides Zeiss/Hensoldt, which cost as much as the land between you and the target anyway

Spent a lot of the day around the Remington and AAC booth today. Lots of cool things coming out either through the Remington, Bushmaster or DPMS name.


Remingtons version of the piston system for ARs. It's not a short stroke version like the HK416 and most of the other piston systems on the market. It's more like a mid stroke piston setp. Notice the lack of rails all the way around and up and down the forend. It's just in the prototype phase right now and probably won't see it until 2011. I am really excited about this upper.

MSR's and RACS
RACS will be available Q3 hopefully. Didn't get a price on the stock. MSR is Remingtons entry into the PSR program. Also AACs new 300SD suppressor. 300Win Mag rated suppressor that is only 13 ozs.

LWRC - REPR, yeah, I want one bad.

Desert Tactical Arms. Got to play around with the new 50 and the latest revision of their rifles. Never been a fan of the bulpup design. But this is system is actually very well thought out. They also have a new scope mount come out that is the cats ass.

Larue Tactical has a new rifle coming out. OBR Lite. At first I wasn't too big one the design. But after handling it, I love it. Just about everything is made inhouse, even the stupid little cotter pin that holds the firing pin in. Monolithic single rail uppers are now the new in thing with the AR15 market.

Still a lot of show to see. Just resting up right now for the AAC party tonight at the Rio.

I didn't see that display. Larue didn't have a big of a booth, they stuck him in the corner of the convention center . He had all his rifles out and his new mags.

I would have taken more pics but some of the vendors don't want you taking pics. I try to respect that. The Remington and AAC guys went out of their way to show us the new products coming out and let us take pics.

Hopefully I can get some more pics of new products tomorrow.

new scopes from Leupold!

this first one is a 1.1 to 8 with .1 MIL adjustments, and a first focal plane reticule that looks very much like the CQB reticle by HORUS with the ranging system underneath. However this scope also has an illuminated center dot similar to the infamous 'short dot' and the illumination controls DONT suck! which is a first for Leupy, the illumination knob on the left side has nice positive clicks and it turns off between settings. Additionally the wind/elev knobs are locked unless you squeeze them. there is a clever locking system built into the knobs which is very easy to use with gloves. Sweet little scope!

Leuold also has a CMR reticle which is VERY much like the IOR Valdada horseshoe with center dot. I love this reticle in a smaller CQB type scope. The illumination looks a bit funky but that may be because it's a pre production unit? I'll find out more tomorrow.

Sweet! Order going in for 2 as soon as they give us the part number. One for the 6.5G build and one for the .223. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Interesting on the new Leupolds. The turrets look fugly as hell, but hey, if the squeeze works..

Curious what reticle they'll be pushing for their longer range ones- probably still the TMR since it should now match the turrets.

First day's over. Three posts of pictures, two with one pic each. People- the members of this fine online community contributed so much to get you out there, put you up in your hotels, pay for your meals, and carry your equipment and cameras. The least you could do to repay our selflessness is give us some more gun porn. I mean, am I wrong here?

I would so make the drive to vergs for a day at Shot, but I dont have a pass.

If any of the vendors at shot think they can get me in for a day, please pm me. I would love to drive up with the wife and check out the show. She loves guns more than I do (at times)

Try living only 10 minutes away from the Show and still not being able to get in! Total BS!
