Shot show range finders

Steiner's supposed to have updated the 10x50 LRF Bino's and incorporated them into a significantly smaller and lighter form factor that's 8x32 or 8x42 IIRC with a reticle, though that's just a rumor from a month ago. Without being there I don't know... anyone?

heres what i got from the ashbury booth on the terapin. vectronix is supposedly are planning to stop manufacturing them around feb, march timeframe but they should be available through the remainder of 2014 or until supply's run out. there is a possible terapin like replacement but it is only in the design stage at this point. possible late summer to Q4 release date. no details on specs or cost at this point. sorry guys thats it

Supplies??? They make them to order. Vectronix don't have "stock" loitering on the shelf.

I called several vendors yesterday, and was told that Vectronix has suspended imports of the Terrapin. So those who were thinking they could still be ordered by the end of the x-month may be out of luck. I take this as, no more will be coming into the country, except for maybe those that are already in transit, and have customs paperwork completed.

I found a new/unused one on Gunbroker yesterday at a very reasonable price. It's gone now... Hehehe.

That is incorrect. There is a large shipment on a boat right now. Should arrive this week depending on weather which delayed its arrival last week.

we have more coming....

Good news as I still find myself paralyzed with indecision... and I was worried when I saw your website change to "call - low stock" this morning. With the incoming shipment at least I have a few more days to make up my mind!

Wish I had the coin to drop on a set of Vectors, I'd probably never worry about a rangefinder ever again...

That's what I basically said, the units already in transit will get here, but Vectronics will not be shipping anymore. That is what I've been told.

This looked promising... 1 Mile Range, back up Mil Reticle, nice size, 8x30... MSRP around $2250...

I'd be surprised if Vectronix (subsidiary of Leica) would stop mass producing a financially viable product and not replace it with something in its place.

I would put my money on an improved laser (with a smaller divergence) and sensor technology increasing ranging of smaller targets with Bluetooth capabilities as standard.

The new product would most likely be of similar dimensions to the terrapins, 10 and 25 models but instead of having the three different models would now just have one at a higher price.

This would minimise the overhead of the different lines needed for manufacturing and slowly move the warranty and service section from the three models to one.
