It was almost certainly a frontal shot, and from the one pic it looked like he was hit in the mouth. Likely a CNS shot, and likely no exit wound like taking a frontal shot on a buck. Light switch was turned off, not pumper going, and no exit wound = not much blood. This tracks with what I observed, so I think this is off base.
I think local cops had hoisted someone up that spotted him as well. The shooter turned on him, causing him to fall, then was shooting shortly thereafter. Don't think we have time markers yet, or ever, but they put a call out on the tax channel of shooter on the roof at that point.
If you put a pic of a live Yernick and Crooks on a split screen and put the pic of the dead ear guage guy below without studying, which one would you say it is?

Yes, SR25s are always on hand as the mid-range. However if the SR25 was or was not the rifle that made the kill shot will likely not come out for a while more. It is also important to point out, the local LE sniper is on Admin leave (which is SOP) because he fired on the shooter (but missed) so you need to account for that.What type of optic I have no idea but there was an optic and I am hoping we get an actual picture of the rifle utilized. I have been saying that in my job for years. Now days company men do the permit , like you said, wear eye shades and play on a iPad and or their phone. Few years ago one of these guys had a flat tire and tried to change it. Truck rolled off jack when he got wheel off ground. The DA turned it in as a near miss and wanted a investigation. I was on committee, asked young man if he had it in park, parking brake fully engaged and opposite wheel chocked with something ? He said no. Asked why and which steps he omitted ? No chock of any kind and no emergency brake applied . I ask why ? Said ,well it wasn't a emergency and no ones ever told me to chock opposite wheel. I have never changed a flat on side of road before in my life. So management decisions after data goes in. No one driving a company truck are to ever change a flat ever again. Dumbing down America....
