Dayton,Oh
This is my personal best 5 shot group from the bench with one of my 40X's. It is an old beat up Cmp Rifle that is crazy good. This target was shot at 50 yards with iron sights yesterday.

Best group with cheap ammunition....CCI SV
CZ 455 American Lilja barrel in a one piece rest.
50 rounds one after another, all I did was load and squeeze.

Not bad, only 2 squibs in the box of 50.
Too bad I don't have the skills
to take advantage of the rifle's accuracy.

Not really, Mark. NW wind is coming from my 9 o'clock and I was using the first bench closest to the dividing wall from the adjacent 100yd range. That put me in the wind shadow and a wind flag on my frame let me know when not to fire. Shooting from a 1 piece rest shows how accurate a rifle is and how consistent the ammunition, but eliminates all shooter contact with the rifle, except for trigger pull.

Wow two impressive groups! Here's mine, not real impressive but it's my best so far. This was shot off bags with a Savage MKII BTVLSS with a Mueller 4.5-14 X 40 APV and CCI SV. It shoots the $25 a box Eley stuff but it's hard to swallow for at the price.

This is not my best but my oldest daughters best. Many of you have already seen this in the 6X5 thread, but I think it fits here. Here name is Payton and she was 8 years old when she shot this last summer at 50 yards prone (5 shots):

Here she is shooting a group just before this one was shot (her younger sister is spotting her):

I dont have a picture but I hit 3 shot gun shells at 100 yards in 3 shots today. I'm really proud of my cheap 10/22 build, and loving the 20" .920 GM barrel.

I was using the cheapo scope from my other pictures. Get good glass/trigger it'll be a shooter for sure.

Here are some groups from my ammo testing today. These were shot with my remington 40x B heavy barrel. Toped with a muller 8-32-40 shot at cherry creek off the bench as I did not have time to drive out to the CRC today. I expect the groups to tighten up just a bit once I can shoot prone. The benches at cherry creek are all attached and move a little whenever someone else fires. Anyway, I am still quite happy with how it shoots.
first photo is lapua center x at 50yds. second blaser at 50. 3rd photo was 100 yds. no hold for wind but the groups were fairly consistant and it was not very windy.

I also tried eley black, fgmm, cci sv, none of them came close to the groups in the photos. I also noticed I would get fliers for the first shot when switching from one type to the next as well as distinct changes in the group location from one brand to another. As i understand it the change in wax coating would be the cause of the flier. it was always 1 shot when changing brand/types of ammo. then it would group like normal. I have observed groups shifing locations with my other 22s but still dont quite understand what causes the groups to move left or right of center based on brand? blaser would be 1/2 in to the left every time, eley black about 3/8 to the right? center x right in the center.
