A few safety rules...not all of them but some critical ones with this many people.
Your rifle can be in thre different positions:
1)Personel behind it sitting live ready to fire.
2)No one around it, sitting on the firing line, put a fired round stovepiped so that everybody can see it is not in battery.
3)Rifle off of the line the bolt MUST be removed.
If you have a loaded weapon off of the firing line you will go directly to the 2nd offense and will not collect $200. Unload before you move the rifle off of the line....magazines included....empty or not.
If there is someone downrange and a round is fired: Providing that person downrange is alive and ok....they just gained the rifle that fired the round......never fire with people in front of the line of fire....never.
Our firing line is not 100% straight so we will have absolutly nobody going in front of any rifle...loaded or otherwise.
Do not go in front of any rifle barrel that is on the firing line.
Don't be a NOBODY....be nice and helpful...if you feel like being a dick just leave. Continued Erections will be asked to leave.
Only fire in one agreed upon direction, we are on a ridge top and will have multiple firing lanes.....only one used at a time....we have 2 days so there is plenty of time...just wait.
If anybody yells "HOLD FIRE/GO COLD/DON'T SHOOT" god damn do it now. We will have signs asking people to let us know they are there before entering the valley but people come from nowhere and if anybody spots any personel or vehicle in the clearcut let everybody know.
Once someone calls the range cold....everybody confirm it.....and put your rifle into one of the three positions.
If you choose to not follow these rules there will be concequences:
1st time is a warning
2nd time you have to give up your ammo for an hour....you can still lay prone and practice dry firing and spotting...but absolutly no firing a weapon
3rd time you have to give up your ammo for the rest of that day
If you fire another round while in time out you will be asked to leave.
If you do not leave you will be shot and buried...your marker will be the hacked off tomatoe stake from your rifle.
I have tried to keep this reasonable and fair because we will have a lot of people in this area....it will be ok but everybody has to be 100% concious of what they are doing. There is no garbage so bring your own garbage bags...absolutly no leavings.
