I use that one for just about everything that has to do with my guns lol.

Like when I got my gun safe. She said,"Why would you need that when you have a gun case?" For the saftey and protection of our family, you wouldn't want our child getting into the cases or a criminal breaking in and using our guns on us do you?

My EoTech sights for my AR ... It's for our protection, I can aquire the target faster.

It works well for me lol!

Re: SHWW Group

I'm new to sniper's hide. I'm from the Olympia area and usually go to CCRP just south of Olympia. I've got a rem 700 sps varminter in .308 I just purchased a couple of months ago to get into long range shooting.

Is there anyone else from the Olympia area on here?

It's good to have you on board. Are you military or former military by chance? Just wondering. Spent about 7 years at Lewis back in the '80's and '90's. You've got a ton of SHWW guys on your side of the state. That's loads of experience with long range shooting that you can tap into. Welcome and good shooting!

Re: SHWW Group

Guys real quick... For those that have already signed up for a Magpul Precision course, you'll all be receiving a complimentary custom data book built for us by Impact Data Books. We'll be doing this promotion the first year for all our shooters. They are the finest books in the industry and they will be the last data book you ever own. We'll be doing a formal announcement on this shortly.

Thanks guys. Slots are filling so be quick!

Re: SHWW Group

Caylen, my wife told me I could spend a couple hundred on a training class. How much is your lOng range precision class? Very interested.

I saw a couple classes in my area but they only went out to 400 yards. They were two day classes for $245. Thanks

Jake

Re: SHWW Group

Hey guys, & gals. Just finishing up the last things on my "to-do" list before BSC III. I just received an entry fee in the mail from a guy in Everett. His initials are R. S. & the bank was Cascade Bank. I don't have a user name to send him his conformation. So if you just sent me an entry in the last few days, PM me so I know the user name please.
Also, if anyone is at all iffy on the directions, etc. let me know, & I'll do my best to clarify any questions. But please do so before Fri. as I will be up there with no computer come Fri AM.
See you @ the shoot.

No, I'm not in the military, but I am a contractor. I am actually in Baghdad right now for a couple more months. I should be home around late August some time. Hopefully I'll have some upgrades done to my rifle by then.

Do you have to put a deposit down when you register for a class? How much experience do you need to take the Precision Rifle 1 class?

Re: SHWW Group

Guys,
I went through Caylens class last year. All I can say is "WOW"!! He really knows his shit, and presents it in a manner that we can all grasp.

Hell of a good time too. If you don't take alot of shit out of his class, you were sleeping when everyone was shooting, and he was lecturing.

If I have any advice that I can provide prior to his class, it would be pay attention to the mechanics/fundamentals that he teaches you. After the class you will catch yourself, reminding yourself to apply all of these in your shooting positions.

And first and foremost....Have fun. I think it is damn near impossible not to leave his class with a metric shit ton of knowledge. Then we can all speak the same language when we get together at the range.

Re: SHWW Group

just so you guys know there is a sweet deal on a apa built 300wm and the seller is local and buddies with sssamurai here. i almost bought this myself but stopped myself from hogging all the good deals.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=226731719

Also the same seller has a nice 3-12 s&b listed for $1800. you could have a apa built 300wm with a s&b on top for around $4000 which is a unbelievably good deal/setup.

Re: SHWW Group

Anyone going to BCS have an extra flushcup T.A.B sling you want to sell or lend to me? I have had no luck ordering one this last week with a few vendors. They are sold out or not answering calls. I have been out of country for most of this year and when i am home i have neglected to order one. I just got burnt twice this year on online orders that were back ordered and never showed up on time. I will bring cash to match if anyone has one.

Originally Posted By: blurry6

I was gonna make up a drop chart for the BSC III location, anyone know the approx altitude?

Ryan

Depending on exactly where we are on the hill it should be around 1700 feet.

Re: SHWW Group

I usually use 1800' ASL for altitude there. Or about 28.5" hg +/- a little.
On an other note, a reminder for any with allergies to tree pollen. It will be bad up there, so I recommend bringing an extra dose of meds.
Bring 100 rnds. & food, & water for the day. So far the weather is "supposed" to be nice up there this weekend, but.....
Also some water proof boots will be a good idea. There is a creek crossing...& mud.
All kit/gear is acceptable, as long as you want to carry it. Sticks are recommended, but there will be a stage where sling only is required.

Re: SHWW Group

One more thing. Please, if you have one, bring a spotting scope, & tripod, & a FRS/GMRS radio with you. I have one scope, & access to one more, & one spare radio, but everyone will be spotting, & scoring each other this time. I don't have the RSO's I had last time.
Just a couple of last minute things to do, & I'm heading up Fri AM, so if you need to cantact me Pm me today, or call me.
See you Sat.

Re: SHWW Group

Well, it appears that the shooting gods have convinced Mother Nature to smile upon us this weekend. Weather forecasts call for sun, & clouds, temps in the mid 50's, & light winds. I just took a break from loading my stuff, so you all could have some good news.
Tribe, you might actually be able to see some scenery after 2 yrs. As long as you don't bring any bad weather up with you...
I'm leaving in a little while to get up there to do some final set up this evening, so If you need to contact me for anything call my cell.
See you tomorrow, & good shooting.

You folks have a great time @ Wheels shoot. There's snowflakes in the air again oer on the sposedly dry side of the state, but they aren't sticking fortunately. I'm hoping the sun will come out to stay perdy damn soon.

Re: SHWW Group

Well no luck for me this weekend. My barrel came back this week and has more shit f'd up with it. It would probably shoot better as a blank piece of steel. But, Chris at Benchmark is doing his magic and hopefully I will be up and running by next week....

Re: SHWW Group

Hey Dafar, I just went out to the Lake Tarboo area yesterday with a buddy who use to shoot the power lines out there but we stopped at the open gate with a warning that it could be locked anytime and no motor vehicles beyond that point.
If you find out for sure where its at let me know. I have one person to ask about Tarboo though to see what the story is.
Other than that its the Poulsbo Sportsmans Club for me

Everyone have a great time at the shoot and get some pics posted !
